An exercise bike, elliptical or rower
Spin, upright, recumbent and air bikes all use Exercise bike, including Peloton and other brands. One elliptical includes its connected base, handles and pedals. Rowing machines and Pilates reformers have their own choices.
Weights, racks and benches
Add together the pounds of loose dumbbells, kettlebells, plates and barbells. Free weights are priced in 10 lb units, rounding the combined weight up. For example, 25 lb uses three units. Add a stand, rack or bench separately if it is going too.

Exercise equipment is not named by the city or the county, so a treadmill or a weight machine has to be arranged either through D.M. Disposal or as a garbage load at the county transfer station.

When & how
Ask the hauler first, then either arrange the collection or take the machine to the Hidden Valley Transfer Station between 8 a.m. and 5:45 p.m.
Get it ready
Take the machine down as far as it comes apart so the pieces can be handled, keep the console out of a garbage load if it still works and route electronic parts separately, and keep the machine off the curbside cleanup pile unless the haulers confirm it inside the appliance and container allowance.
Collection is mandatory and runs on one weekly day
Every occupied residence in Puyallup has to have solid waste collection, provided through the city contract with D.M. Disposal, which also bills the account. Collection runs on the household's regular pickup day, with no pickup on Thanksgiving, Christmas or New Year's Day and a one day delay for the rest of that week after each of those holidays. Curbside recycling is arranged with the same hauler, and glass goes to the Elks Lodge on 27th Street NE.
The city runs Fall Cleanup, Treecycling in January and Spring Cleanup each year. During the Spring and Fall cleanup weeks, up to three containers of extra garbage, extra yard waste and one major appliance can go to the curb on the regular pickup day, Christmas trees go out during Treecycling, and all of it is free to City of Puyallup utility customers, with the dates announced by mail through D.M. Disposal's billing.
The Hidden Valley Transfer Station at 17925 Meridian Ave E in Puyallup is open seven days a week from 8 a.m. to 5:45 p.m. and takes garbage, yard waste, recycling, e-waste and motor oil, with household hazardous waste on the same site. Garbage is billed at a minimum for the first 400 pounds or a per ton rate above that plus the state refuse tax, yard waste under a ton is free for county residents, credit or debit is preferred and checks are not accepted, and commercial loads may only use Hidden Valley, Purdy or the Tacoma center.
