Schedule the bulky pickup before anything goes out
Bulky material is collected on a designated day after you call 311 at 334-625-4636 or the Sanitation Department at 334-625-2751, and the city publishes both a per-truck-load range and a per-unit price for named items such as sofas, appliances and hot water heaters. Yard waste stays separate: grass, leaves, pine straw and limbs cut under four feet long and eight inches in diameter go behind the curb on the weekly yard trash day.
The Saturday points run on the first and third Saturday of each month from 7 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. for Montgomery city residents only, and debris has to be delivered during those hours. Hazardous or toxic waste is refused, bricks, cement, dirt or roofing over one cubic yard must go to the North Montgomery Landfill, tires are limited to four per patron, and anything that has or has had Freon goes to the Cramton Bowl north parking lot.
