Each residential trash customer qualifies for one complimentary bulk item collection per calendar year, scheduled by appointment instead of a fixed cleanup week. Commercial businesses and communities on shared dumpsters are not eligible for the program.

When & how
Take the appliance to the Transfer Station between 7:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. Monday through Saturday, or offer it to the annual bulk appointment when the piece meets the appointment limits.
Get it ready
Keep the appliance out of the trash cart and the recycling cart, empty and dry the drum on a washer, tape doors closed, and remove loose cords that could catch during handling. Secure, contain and cover the load before arrival, because the city code requires every load entering the Transfer Station to be secured.
A refrigerator or similar unit is only accepted when a licensed professional has already evacuated the refrigerant, and the city asks for the removal invoice at the Transfer Station. The city publishes no curbside or appointment route for a refrigerant unit, so it never inherits the general appliance acceptance.
