One computer setup can be several items.

A separate monitor and tower count separately. Small devices and cables have their own box option. Choose what is actually leaving so your price matches the pickup.

Monitor, desktop or laptop.

Choose Computer monitor for each separate display. Desktop computer covers one tower or one all-in-one computer. A laptop is its own item. Add only the devices going.

Printer or office copier.

A printer with a built-in scanner belongs under Printer. A floor-standing copy machine belongs under Office copier. The shape matters more than the brand.

A box of smaller electronics.

Use Box of electronics for small devices, cables and chargers together in one box. For a large or heavy box, unusual contents or separate batteries, send a photo and confirm the fit before booking.

Small electronics taken at no charge

Accepted with preparation

Laptops without batteries, computer towers, VCRs, DVD players and cable boxes are recycled free at the Transfer Station. Every other electronic item on the city list is billed as trash instead, so the free group is narrower than the words electronic waste suggest.

City cost & eligibility
No charge. Free at the Transfer Station for a customer dropping a laptop without its battery, a tower, a VCR, a DVD player or a cable box. Televisions, monitors, phones, vacuums, microwaves, small appliances, keyboards, printers and stereos are billed as trash rather than accepted free.
When & how
Take the items to the Transfer Station between 7:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. Monday through Saturday. A mixed load is weighed, so the free items and the charged items are sorted separately at the booth.
Get it ready
Remove and keep the rechargeable battery from a laptop, because the battery does not travel with the free electronics. Keep electronics out of the green recycle cart and out of the appointment pile, and secure the items so nothing shifts in transit.

Electronics billed as trash

Accepted with preparation

Flat panel televisions, CRT televisions, old monitors, phones, vacuums, microwaves, small appliances, keyboards, printers and stereos are charged as trash at the Transfer Station rather than handled as free electronics. They are still accepted, they are just billed by weight.

City cost & eligibility
$20 for solid waste tipping fee at the Transfer Station with a $20.00 minimum load charge covering up to 300 pounds, billed at $125.00 per ton. Self-haul to the Sundog Ranch Road Transfer Station. The city bills this group at the trash rate rather than including it in the free electronics list.
When & how
Take the load to the Transfer Station between 7:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. Monday through Saturday. The load is weighed at the booth, so separating free electronics from charged electronics changes what you pay.
Get it ready
Keep electronics out of the recycling cart and out of the bulk appointment pile. Remove loose batteries, tape monitor doors and screens so they do not break in transit, and secure and cover the load because the city requires a contained load at the Transfer Station.

City of Prescott Solid Waste Division

Haul the load to the Transfer Station

A household with a heavy couch, a mattress set, a television, an appliance or a load that is too large for the annual appointment.

Cost & conditions
From $20 for minimum load charge at the Transfer Station, with solid waste billed at $125.00 per ton, clean brush at $91.00 per ton and clean inert debris at $62.50 per ton. Any customer self-hauling a load to the Sundog Ranch Road Transfer Station. Every load is weighed and paid at the booth in cash, check or credit card, and an authorized solid waste charge account can be billed monthly instead.
Arrange it
Take the load to 2800 Sundog Ranch Road between 7:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. Monday through Saturday. Secure, contain and cover the load first, because the city code requires it, then weigh in at the booth.

The station does not accept tires, paint, propane tanks, toxic or hazardous material, anything containing asbestos, car batteries, household hazardous waste, or an appliance that holds refrigerant without an evacuation certificate. Construction debris arrives as a self-haul load rather than through the bulk appointment.

Before you book

A few things
worth knowing.

Electronics removal, from choosing your item to pickup day in Prescott.

How much does electronics pickup cost in Prescott?

A computer monitor is $79 as the first item and $19 as an additional item. Choose the actual devices and quantities to see your combined price online. A separate desktop tower and monitor are separate items. Loading, transportation and disposal are included; review the total and any applicable tax before payment.

Can you pick up old electronics today in Prescott?

Book by 2pm at your pickup address for same-day pickup. Choose from the dates shown at checkout and have the prepared items outside according to your confirmation. We text you when your hauler is on the way and provide photos when the pickup is done. The booking is for a day, not an exact arrival time.

Does computer removal include my monitor and printer?

Desktop computer covers one tower or one all-in-one computer. Add a separate monitor, printer or laptop as its own item if it is going too. For small devices, cables and chargers together, choose Box of electronics and check the description before booking.

Do you erase data from old computers?

Data erasure and certified data destruction are not included in Dropcurb removal. Back up the information you need, then follow the manufacturer’s sign-out and reset instructions before pickup. If a device cannot be erased or contains sensitive business information, arrange suitable data handling before giving it away. Completion photos confirm the pickup, not data destruction.Official guidance

Can I book one box of old cables and small electronics?

Yes. Box of electronics is an existing option for small devices, cables and chargers together in one box. A monitor, desktop computer and printer each have their own item option. Send a photo before booking for a large or heavy box, unusual contents or separate batteries so we can confirm the fit.

Which electronics does Prescott take at no charge?

Laptops without their batteries, computer towers, VCRs, DVD players and cable boxes are recycled free at the Transfer Station. Televisions, monitors, phones, vacuums, microwaves, small appliances, keyboards, printers and stereos are charged as trash instead, so sort a mixed load before you get to the booth.Official guidance

Which electronics are billed as trash in Prescott?

Flat panel televisions, CRT televisions, old monitors, phones, vacuums, microwaves, small appliances, keyboards, printers and stereos are charged as trash at the Transfer Station. The city also states that electronics do not belong in the curbside recycling cart, so this group goes to the scale rather than into the green container.Official guidance

What does Prescott charge to pick up a large item?

The annual bulk appointment is complimentary once a calendar year for a residential trash customer, and the city publishes no per-item charge for it. The Transfer Station charges by weight instead, with a minimum load charge on every load and a separate rate for solid waste, clean brush and clean inert debris. Dropcurb prices a pickup separately and shows the total before payment.Official guidance

Can I take a load to the Prescott Transfer Station myself?

Yes. The Transfer Station at 2800 Sundog Ranch Road is open Monday through Saturday and takes household garbage, construction debris, furniture, appliances and yard waste, with the charge calculated by weight at the booth. The load has to be secured, contained and covered, tires, paint, propane tanks, asbestos, car batteries and household hazardous waste are refused, and an appliance that holds refrigerant needs a licensed technician's evacuation certificate.Official guidance

Where do Prescott tires, paint and batteries go?

Tires are refused at the Transfer Station and in the annual appointment, and up to five on-road tires can go to the Yavapai County waste tire yard at 2650 Sundog Ranch Road on Tuesday through Thursday. Wet paint and chemicals belong at the city household hazardous waste event, and registration for the current event has closed with the next event expected in fall 2026. Alkaline batteries are bagged and tied into the trash, rechargeable batteries go to the hazardous waste event or a vendor, and car batteries go back to an auto store.Official guidance
