Large appliances such as microwaves, washers and dryers are accepted in the town bulk trash collection, but the same list excludes refrigerators and freezers, and the discounted self-haul transfer station refuses them as well, so a cooling appliance needs a confirmed route before anything is set out.

A refrigerator or freezer is refused by the bulk program, by the discounted transfer station and by the household hazardous waste program, so confirm a retailer or private route and its price before the pickup date rather than leaving the unit at the curb.
When & how
Schedule a bulk collection as usual for a washer, dryer or microwave. Settle a refrigerator or freezer separately first, because it will not be collected at the curb and it is not accepted at the transfer station.
Get it ready
Keep a washer, dryer or microwave inside the six cubic yard load, and remove fuel and oil from any gas equipment. Keep a refrigerator or freezer out of the bulk pile, because both the town bulk list and the transfer station refuse those units.
Bulk trash is scheduled rather than assumed in Queen Creek. The town asks for the request by noon on the business day before the pickup, submitted through the Collection tab of its trash widget, and the household needs a current and active town trash and recycling account. Collection runs Monday through Friday, so a weekend date is not available.
Put it out by 6 a.m. and keep the load to six cubic yards
Everything for the bulk pickup must be curbside by 6 a.m. on the scheduled day, and the load cannot exceed six cubic yards, which the town compares to about six dishwashers. Collection can take up to 48 hours. Anything left at the curb on that date will be collected, including containers and cans, so bring in whatever you intend to keep.
Refrigerators and freezers, carpet, construction material such as concrete, dirt, rock, gravel, pavers, wood and brick, tires, paint, batteries and motor oil, horse manure and car parts are all refused, and household hazardous waste is not accepted in a bulk collection at all. Route those items to the town household hazardous waste voucher program, the discounted transfer station where the load qualifies, or a private option, and never leave them in the pile.
