Treadmill, walking pad or commercial model?
Household treadmill includes folding home models with a tall console. Choose Walking pad for a compact under-desk model, or Commercial treadmill for a large gym machine. All equipment opens those choices.
An exercise bike, elliptical or rower
Spin, upright, recumbent and air bikes all use Exercise bike, including Peloton and other brands. One elliptical includes its connected base, handles and pedals. Rowing machines and Pilates reformers have their own choices.
Weights, racks and benches
Add together the pounds of loose dumbbells, kettlebells, plates and barbells. Free weights are priced in 10 lb units, rounding the combined weight up. For example, 25 lb uses three units. Add a stand, rack or bench separately if it is going too.

A pickup day is not an exact arrival window. Tell us before booking about a shared loading area, restricted outdoor access or equipment whose size or setup you are unsure how to select.

Exercise equipment is not named in any Sedona program. The annual city event takes small household appliances and power tools but refuses bulky items, and a treadmill is a bulky item, so the route is a private hauler or a confirmed transfer station trip.
City cost & eligibility
No published rate covers an exercise machine, because Sedona runs no bulky service; the private hauler or the transfer station sets the price, so it is confirmed before the machine is moved.
When & how
Call a hauler from the city's list before the machine is moved, or confirm with the Cottonwood transfer station at 928-531-0255 for a self-haul trip during its Monday to Saturday hours.
Get it ready
Fold or tie down the deck and handles, take the console and any battery pack off so the electronics can go to the city's electronics event instead, and keep the machine out of the recycling bins, which refuse bulky items.
The city collection event is one Saturday morning each year
The 2026 household hazardous waste and electronics collection runs on Saturday, October 24 from 7:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Sedona Red Rock High School parking lot, 995 Upper Redrock Loop Rd., as a drive-through for City of Sedona residents and residents of unincorporated Yavapai County areas. Bring electronics whole and wipe the drives first, keep cathode ray tube televisions or monitors to the twenty item limit that is first come, and bring no more than four boxes of paper for shredding.
What the city event refuses, and where those items go instead
The event refuses ammunition and fireworks, bulky items such as furniture and appliances, car and vehicle batteries, commercial business waste, compressed gas cylinders other than propane, explosives, latex and acrylic paints, motor oil, radioactive material including smoke detectors, anything containing freon including refrigerators, and tires. Latex paint can be dried with kitty litter or sawdust and put in the regular trash, and vehicle batteries and motor oil go back to garages or auto supply stores.
Use a permitted, accessible outdoor spot. Arrange the move out of your home, keep shared access clear and follow your confirmation’s readiness instructions. Check with your building about access or staging limits before booking.

These are private companies rather than a city service, the city does not set or publish their rates, and the local recycling drop-offs still refuse bulky material, so the hauler has to take the whole load.

Will you dismantle my treadmill or carry it out of the basement?+
Dropcurb pickup starts outside. Arrange indoor carrying, stairs and any dismantling needed to get your equipment out before pickup. Check the moving instructions for your exact model and arrange suitable help. We load and haul away the equipment from an accessible outdoor spot.
Which option covers a Peloton, spin bike or recumbent bike?+
Choose Exercise bike for one stationary bike, including spin, upright, recumbent and air bikes. Peloton and other brands use the same stationary-bike choice. A treadmill, walking pad and outdoor bicycle are different items, so select their matching options.
How do I book free weights, a weight rack or a bench?+
Enter the combined weight in pounds for your dumbbells, kettlebells, plates and barbells. Booking rounds that total up to the next 10 lb unit: 25 lb uses three units. Stands, racks and benches are separate items and do not include the loose weights. Add each one that is going.
Can a Sedona treadmill go to the city collection event?+
No. The event's refusal list covers bulky items, even though it takes small household appliances like blenders and hairdryers and power tools. Why can I not book a city bulky item pickup in Sedona?+
Because Sedona does not offer one. The city lists private haulers instead, its annual collection event refuses bulky items such as furniture and appliances by name, and Sedona Recycles states plainly that it no longer accepts bulky items.
