Treadmill, walking pad or commercial model?
Household treadmill includes folding home models with a tall console. Choose Walking pad for a compact under-desk model, or Commercial treadmill for a large gym machine. All equipment opens those choices.
An exercise bike, elliptical or rower
Spin, upright, recumbent and air bikes all use Exercise bike, including Peloton and other brands. One elliptical includes its connected base, handles and pedals. Rowing machines and Pilates reformers have their own choices.
Weights, racks and benches
Add together the pounds of loose dumbbells, kettlebells, plates and barbells. Free weights are priced in 10 lb units, rounding the combined weight up. For example, 25 lb uses three units. Add a stand, rack or bench separately if it is going too.

Exercise equipment is not named on the accepted furniture list or the refused list, so the hauler has to confirm the machine before it goes to the curb.
City cost & eligibility
No published entry covers an exercise machine. The bulky sweep is free for six or fewer items, and a machine that needs more than two people to move or a special handling arrangement must be arranged with the hauler, so confirm the item and any charge at 800-299-4898.
When & how
Call Republic Services at 800-299-4898 before the collection day and confirm whether the machine counts as a bulky item or needs a scheduled pickup or container.
Get it ready
Describe the machine, its weight and whether it has a powered console, take those parts off so the electronics can go on the scheduled e-waste pickup, and keep the frame clear of the sidewalk, street and driveway.
Bulky items go out on your normal trash collection day, no earlier than noon on the day before collection and no later than 6 a.m. on the collection day, and they must not block the street, sidewalk or driveway or Code Enforcement may ask you to take them back in. Six or fewer items need no appointment, a larger pile is booked with Republic Services, and a gated complex keeps the pile at the curb or in the alley because the driver cannot go beyond the gate.
Use a permitted, accessible outdoor spot. Arrange the move out of your home, keep shared access clear and follow your confirmation’s readiness instructions. Check with your building about access or staging limits before booking.

Construction and demolition debris, tires, car bodies, paint, chemicals, automotive fluids, batteries, fluorescent lights and anything needing more than two people to move are refused, and illegal dumping of those items can bring an administrative fine. Bundles must stay within four feet long, two feet across and 50 pounds each.
Alhambra's curbside routes cover most things: furniture, mattresses and bundled material go out on the bulky sweep, and electronics and appliances ride the scheduled pickup. Self-haul matters for the material the city refuses. Paint, solvents, automotive products, batteries and sharps go to a Los Angeles County household hazardous waste event, which is free with a 15 gallon or 125 pound limit per vehicle, or to the LA/Glendale S.A.F.E. Collection Center on Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., while construction and demolition material goes to a certified construction recycler or into a rented bin ordered through the hauler. Dropcurb pickup starts outside. Arrange indoor carrying, stairs and any dismantling needed to get your equipment out before pickup. Check the moving instructions for your exact model and arrange suitable help. We load and haul away the equipment from an accessible outdoor spot.
Which option covers a Peloton, spin bike or recumbent bike?+
Choose Exercise bike for one stationary bike, including spin, upright, recumbent and air bikes. Peloton and other brands use the same stationary-bike choice. A treadmill, walking pad and outdoor bicycle are different items, so select their matching options.
How do I book free weights, a weight rack or a bench?+
Enter the combined weight in pounds for your dumbbells, kettlebells, plates and barbells. Booking rounds that total up to the next 10 lb unit: 25 lb uses three units. Stands, racks and benches are separate items and do not include the loose weights. Add each one that is going.
