Count the sections, not the cushions.

A loveseat, a sleeper and a sectional can look similar in a photo. Match the shape and features so your online price covers what is actually going.

Three structural sectional modules slightly separated, with all cushions remaining on their bases.
This example has three structural sections. The cushions do not add to the count.

A straight sofa or loveseat

Choose Standard sofa for fixed seats with no pull-out bed or reclining mechanism. One whole sofa is one item.

A sectional

Count its structural sections, not the loose cushions. Choose the piece count, then check for a sleeper or reclining feature. One sectional booking covers the configuration you select.

A pull-out bed or reclining seats

Choose Sleeper sofa or Reclining sofa for those mechanisms. A single reclining chair has its own Recliner choice. All sofa types also includes futons and sofas with a chaise.

Mixed bulky items by appointment

Accepted with preparation

Bulky household material that is too large for the garbage cart is collected by appointment, including furniture, mattresses and a spa or hot tub cut into quarters.

City cost & eligibility
No charge. One appointment for up to five cubic yards of acceptable items is included in the standard residential curbside collection service every 12 months, and the 12-month period starts on the date the service is used rather than on January 1. Additional appointments, and material beyond five cubic yards, are charged at the current residential rates, and 15 cubic yards is the maximum accepted at one pickup.
When & how
By appointment only. Call customer service Monday to Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at 916-875-5555, submit the online appointment request or use the SacGreenTeam app, and have the material out by 6 a.m. no more than 24 hours before the appointment day. Adding appliances, e-waste, fluorescent tubes, clean lumber, trimmings or tires to an appointment, or changing or cancelling one, requires a call to a representative at least one day ahead, because email and voicemail are not accepted.
Get it ready
Place the pile in front of the property line on the same side of the street, one foot from the curb or pavement edge on a flat hard surface, six feet from cars, mailboxes, fences, poles and other objects, with 14.5 feet of overhead clearance, and keep sidewalks, traffic lanes and gutters clear. Keep pipes, lumber and tree or shrub trimmings under four inches wide and five feet long, keep treated wood out of clean wood, empty appliances of trash and tape or tie large appliance doors shut, and leave business waste, concrete, dirt, rocks, bricks, tree stumps, glass panes and mirrors, hot ashes, liquids, hazardous waste and anything that already fits a garbage, organics or recycling cart out of the pile.

Before you book

A few things
worth knowing.

Couch removal, from choosing your item to pickup day in Arden-Arcade.

How much does couch removal cost in Arden-Arcade?

A standard sofa is $79 as the first item and $29 additional. Sectionals, sleepers and reclining sofas have their own choices. Select everything that is going to see the combined price before booking. Loading, transportation and disposal are included; any applicable sales tax appears before payment.

Can you pick up my couch today?

Book by 2pm in the pickup address’s local time for same-day pickup. Available dates appear at checkout. Have the couch outside and accessible according to your confirmation. We send pickup updates and photos when it is done; the booking is for a day rather than an exact arrival time.

How do I book a sectional for removal?

Open Sectional in the sofa choices, count its structural sections, and select any sleeper or reclining feature. Count the sections with their own bases, not loose cushions. The matching catalog choice covers one complete sectional of that configuration. Text a photo before booking if you are unsure.

Will you carry my couch out of my apartment?

Dropcurb starts outside. Arrange for the sofa to be moved through the apartment and down interior stairs before pickup. We load and haul it away from an accessible outdoor spot. Arrange any dismantling needed to get it outside beforehand.

Do I need to wait at home for couch pickup?

You do not need to be home when your booked sofa is outside and accessible. Add photos and pickup-location notes to your order so the right pieces are easy to identify. We send updates and completion photos. Confirm any building access restrictions with us before booking.

How large can a bulky pile be in Arden-Arcade?

The included appointment covers five cubic yards, which the county describes as a pile eight feet by four feet by four feet, about a pickup bed loaded to the top of the cab. The county accepts up to 15 cubic yards and charges current rates for everything above the five cubic yards included in the annual appointment.Official guidance

Do appliances, televisions or tires arrive on a separate truck?

The county may send a separate truck for appliances, e-waste, fluorescent tubes, clean lumber and trimmings, and up to four tires, so say what you have when you schedule and set those items to one side of the rest of the pile. Changing what is on the appointment, or cancelling it, takes a call at least one day before the appointment day.Official guidance

Does Sacramento County charge for an Arden-Arcade bulky pickup?

One bulky appointment for up to five cubic yards is included with residential cart service every 12 months, with the period running from the day the appointment is used. Extra appointments and anything above five cubic yards are charged at current rates up to the 15 cubic yard maximum, and the county separately charges facility fees for loads a household drives to Kiefer Landfill or the North Area Recovery Station.Official guidance

Is Arden-Arcade served by the county collection program?

Arden-Arcade is not one of the seven incorporated cities in Sacramento County, so it sits in the unincorporated area where the county Department of Waste Management & Recycling provides residential cart service, including the annual bulky appointment. Multifamily apartment complexes served by commercial franchised haulers are the exception, and the county's address lookup or customer service confirms the service at a specific address.Official guidance
