Flat-screen TVs
Measure the screen diagonally, corner to corner, without the frame. Choose under 42 inches or 42 inches and larger. A TV measuring exactly 42 inches belongs to the larger option.
Tube TVs
An older tube or CRT television has curved glass and a deep, heavy body. Choose Tube TV even if its screen is small. A rear-projection TV is different; send a photo before booking so we can check the fit.

Wipe or reset anything that stores data, and bring proof of Orange County residency to a centre, where a maximum of 15 gallons or 125 pounds may be brought per vehicle per visit and containers must have lids and be sturdy and non-leaking.
The trash cart is for everything that is not recyclable, but its unacceptable list names appliances, bulk items, electronics, batteries, fluorescent tubes and lights, concrete, construction debris, dirt, liquids, oil, grease, mirrors, sharps and hazardous or medical waste. Large pieces therefore leave on the bulky item pickup and electronics on the e-waste pickup, both arranged with Republic Services at (714) 238-2444.
Household hazardous waste and sharps go to a centre
Household hazardous waste cannot be placed in the trash and goes to a County of Orange collection centre, which is open to county residents on proof of residency, Tuesday through Saturday 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and closed on rainy days and major holidays. A maximum of 15 gallons or 125 pounds may be brought per vehicle per visit, containers need lids and must be sturdy and non-leaking, and empty cans are dried out and put in the regular trash. Used sharps go into a sealed, labelled strong plastic container and are taken to the Anaheim centre at 1071 N Blue Gum St, which the city says is free for county residents.
