Match your item

Construction cleanup starts with the right items.

We currently accept the doors, toilets and bathroom vanities listed here, already detached and ready outside. Choose each item separately. Mixed drywall, tile, concrete, lumber and demolition rubble are not accepted, including in bags.

Doors

Count each detached door panel separately. Have it removed from its hinges before pickup. A whole installed doorway or garage door is not the same item.

Toilets

Choose Toilet for an ordinary household toilet that has already been disconnected, drained and moved outside. Text a photo before booking if yours is broken or has loose sharp pieces.

Bathroom vanities

Choose the small, standard or large bathroom vanity that matches your sink cabinet. A makeup table has a separate choice. Plumbing disconnection and removal from the wall happen before pickup.

Construction and demolition debris

Not on the regular city route

Construction and demolition debris is refused by the bulky pickup, and the district runs it through a separate debris box or approved facility route instead.

City cost & eligibility
A C&D debris box carries a collection fee plus a disposal fee charged per ton on actual disposal costs and an administrative fee, and the district points to its debris box rate schedule. Confirm the box size and the current fees with Alameda County Industries on (510) 483-1400 before ordering.
When & how
Contact Alameda County Industries on (510) 483-1400 to request a construction and demolition debris box, or have the licensed contractor recycle the material at the Davis Street Transfer Station or another designated site approved by the district.
Get it ready
Keep construction and demolition material, concrete, rocks, brick and dirt off the curb entirely, because the bulky pickup refuses all of it. If you self-haul, the district requires a fixed body vehicle and a facility that holds all applicable permits and is approved by the district.

What stays out of the bulky pile

Construction and demolition debris, concrete, rocks, brick and dirt are refused, and so is household hazardous waste including antifreeze and motor oil and filters. Those materials go instead to a debris box or approved construction facility, or to a county household hazardous waste facility. Cart rules still apply on collection day: carts go out by 6 a.m. with handles to the curb, lids must close, and overflow can draw an overage fee or a non-collection notice.

Drop mattresses, electronics or construction material at Davis Street

Alameda County households and businesses with up to five mattresses or box springs a day, appliances and electronics, tires, carpet, or a construction and demolition load that needs certified recycling.

Cost & conditions
The operator publishes free mattress drop-off for the first five items per day and a per item fee beyond that, plus a general environmental charge on invoice charges, but it does not publish a gate rate for mixed or construction loads. Confirm the accepted material and the price before loading.
Arrange it
Drive the load to the Davis Street complex in San Leandro. The operator page carries the services and the program details; use it for directions because the page does not print a street address.

Mattress drop-off is capped at five items a day before a per item fee starts. Mixed wet trash is not sorted for recyclables, so separate recyclables and organics first, and commercial drivers need a safety vest and hardhat on site.

Order a construction and demolition debris box

A household or contractor with renovation, remodeling or demolition material that the bulky pickup refuses.

Cost & conditions
A debris box carries a collection fee plus a disposal fee charged per ton based on actual disposal costs and an administrative fee, and the district publishes the debris box rate schedule. Confirm the box size and the current charges with Alameda County Industries on (510) 483-1400 before ordering.
Arrange it
Request the debris box from Alameda County Industries on (510) 483-1400, and have the material taken to the Davis Street Transfer Station or another designated site approved by the district.

The district requires the material to be recycled rather than landfilled where possible. A contractor may recycle it at an approved site, and a self-hauled load must go in a fixed body vehicle to a facility that holds all applicable permits and is approved by the district.

Taking it somewhere yourself?

Castro Valley keeps bulky items on the curb and sends the material that must not go in a cart to a gate. The annual Bulky and Reuse Pick-Up takes furniture, mattresses, televisions, electronics, appliances, scrap metal, textiles, bundled wood and up to four rimless tires, and the hauler sorts it for reuse and recycling before landfill. Everything else needs a trip. Household hazardous waste and electronics go free to the Alameda County facilities, with Hayward at 2091 West Winton Ave. open Thursday, Friday and Saturday and Oakland at 2100 East 7th Street open Wednesday through Saturday, using Alameda County identification and staying within 125 pounds or 15 gallons per visit. Mattresses can also be dropped free at the Davis Street facility in San Leandro, up to five a day. Renovation material moves in an Alameda County Industries debris box or to a district-approved permitted facility, because the curbside route refuses it. Before you book

A few things
worth knowing.

Construction debris removal, from choosing your item to pickup day in Castro Valley.

How much does construction debris removal cost in Castro Valley?

Pricing is per accepted item. A detached door is $99 as a single item, an ordinary toilet is $79, and a small bathroom vanity is $99. Larger vanities have their own choices. Select the listed items to see the exact combined price. These prices do not cover mixed rubble or loose building materials. Loading, transportation and disposal are included; applicable sales tax appears before payment.

Can I get same-day toilet or vanity pickup in Castro Valley?

Book by 2pm at your pickup address for same-day pickup, where available. Checkout shows the dates you can choose. Arrange disconnection, removal and the move outside first, then have the fixture ready by the time in your confirmation. We text you before arrival and provide pickup photos when it is done.

Will you disconnect a sink or take a door off its hinges?

The fixture must already be detached, disconnected and accessible outside at ground level. Arrange plumbing, electrical work, removal from walls or hinges, and indoor carrying before pickup. Dropcurb handles loading and haul-away from your outdoor pickup spot.

Can I add bags of drywall, tile or other demolition waste?

Mixed drywall, tile, concrete, lumber and demolition rubble are not accepted. This page offers pickup for the listed doors, toilets and bathroom vanities that are already removed. Do not book loose building materials as household trash bags or as an extra item. Arrange suitable disposal for those materials with your contractor or a debris specialist.

Can a door, toilet and vanity go in the same pickup?

Yes. Add each listed fixture separately and choose the correct vanity size. Each detached door panel counts as one item. The combined price appears before you book. Keep the fixtures together outside, separate from anything staying, and add a location photo on your order page.

Where does renovation debris go in Castro Valley?

Not in the bulky pickup, which refuses construction and demolition debris along with concrete, rocks, brick and dirt. The district routes it through an Alameda County Industries debris box, a licensed contractor recycling the material at the Davis Street Transfer Station or another approved site, or a self-hauled load in a fixed body vehicle to a permitted facility approved by the district.Official guidance
