The TV’s type and size determine which item to choose. A new model and an old model can use the same option if their shape and screen size match.
Flat-screen TVs
Measure the screen diagonally, corner to corner, without the frame. Choose under 42 inches or 42 inches and larger. A TV measuring exactly 42 inches belongs to the larger option.
Tube TVs
An older tube or CRT television has curved glass and a deep, heavy body. Choose Tube TV even if its screen is small. A rear-projection TV is different; send a photo before booking so we can check the fit.
TV stands and other electronics
The TV price covers the television. Add a media console, computer monitor or other item separately if it is going too. Choose only what you want removed and review the combined price.

Electronic waste is expressly refused at the city's community cleanup drop-off days, which name televisions, printers, radios and computers as items they will not take. Orange County runs free household hazardous waste and e-waste collection centers for residents instead.

The cleanup days refuse electronic waste and the city publishes no e-waste pickup, so the working route is the county collection center, which is free to Orange County residents. Confirm with the county hotline at (714) 834-6752 and, if the item is a television, ask Republic Services at (714) 238-2444 whether it can go on a bulky pickup before setting it out.

Get it ready
Remove sensitive information before dropping off a computer, phone or drive, because the county states that no destruction happens on site. Keep electronics out of the black barrel and out of a cleanup day load, where they are refused.
Community cleanup days take bulky items but refuse three streams
The city and Republic host community cleanup days where residents unload their own bulky items, including appliances, furniture, mattresses and carpets, and Public Works staff help elderly and disabled residents. Three streams are refused at those events: electronic waste such as televisions, printers, radios and computers, hazardous waste including paint and oil, and green waste such as grass clippings and leaves. Electronics and hazardous material go to the county collection centers instead, and yard waste goes in the brown barrel.
Use a permitted, accessible outdoor spot. Arrange the move out of your home, keep shared access clear and follow your confirmation’s readiness instructions. Check with your building about access or staging limits before booking.

Your TV does not need to turn on for removal. Choose its type and size and arrange to have it outside before pickup. A non-working TV and a TV with exposed broken glass are different situations; send a photo of unusual damage so we can confirm the plan before you book.
