City cost & eligibility
A curbside mattress uses one of the four bulk item pickups of up to 10 items each that residential cart customers get per calendar year. Mattresses hauled to the transfer station are free for up to two per customer per visit.

No charge. Four bulk item pickups of up to 10 items each per calendar year for residential cart customers, scheduled in advance. Additional pickups year round are collected for a fee.

Residential cart customers only, and the city itself does not collect bulky items from private property. The carts refuse construction material, hazardous waste, electronic waste, tires and paint, and the published program does not list item categories, so confirm the exact piece when you book.

Up to two mattresses per customer per visit are free at the scale house. Mattresses are listed separately from tonnage-rated material, so keep them apart from a mixed load and confirm the gate before you travel.
Monday to Friday 6 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Saturday from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the hauler's scale house, while the City lists Saturday opening at 6 a.m., so confirm the opening before a Saturday trip. Closed Sunday and on the six observed holidays.
No charge. Up to two mattresses per customer per visit for self-haul customers at the Huntington Beach Transfer Station, per the published 2026-2027 rate sheet.

Dropcurb starts outside. You arrange to move the mattress out of your apartment and down interior stairs before pickup. We load it and take it away from an accessible outdoor spot. Check your building’s access rules before arranging the move outside.
Can you pick up my old mattress when my new one arrives?+
You can choose an offered pickup day around your replacement delivery. First check whether the retailer already includes old-mattress removal, and arrange who will bring it outside if needed. Dropcurb books a pickup day, not the retailer’s delivery window. Contact us before booking if access is limited to a short time.
Is there a free way to drop off a mattress?+
