Bags, boxes and the last things left to clear, gone from the curb. Choose what’s going, see your exact price and book by 2pm for same-day pickup. You don’t need to be home.
Two bags. One filled box. Count what goes, then book it together.
Finish clearing the space
The last few things still deserve a pickup.
You have decided what is going. Now give those bags and boxes a pickup day, with a price you can see before anyone arrives.
The move is nearly done.
Book the unwanted bags and boxes left after packing. Choose an available pickup day before you hand back the keys, and arrange to have them outside.
The clear-out can be finished.
You do not need a whole house of junk. Select the bags, boxes and larger items you actually have. Your combined price is shown online.
You want to know it is handled.
When the next collection does not fit your plans, choose a Dropcurb pickup day. Updates keep you informed, and completion photos show when the booked items are gone.
A few simple choices turn a mixed pile into a clear booking. No need to estimate how much of a truck it might fill.
Filled bags and boxes
Count each trash bag or filled household box. Books and media go by the box. Clothes, bedding and shoes go by the filled bag. Toys packed together have a Box of toys choice. Ask us about unusually heavy or oversized bags and boxes first.
Empty cardboard and containers
Empty cardboard is a different choice: choose single empty boxes or tied bundles of 10 flattened boxes. Compacted bales have their own weight-based choices and require loading-dock access. A Storage bin choice covers the empty bin itself; ask us to confirm the contents if they are going too.
Furniture and other larger items
Add the actual larger item alongside your bags and boxes, such as a sofa, chair or mattress. It has its own price and preparation. Keep construction materials and items needing special handling out of ordinary household bags.

A mattress is a named bulky item and is collected on one of the three free bulky pickups a calendar year.
City cost & eligibility
No charge. Included in the three free bulky item pickups a calendar year, each covering up to ten large items, for a residential customer whose items a two-person crew can handle. A self-haul load at a county landfill carries an added hard-to-handle charge for a mattress or other item longer than six feet, and the city also points to the Bye Bye Mattress drop-off programme.
When & how
Book the pickup with CR&R at (949) 520-6005 or through the online scheduling service for your regular collection day, then put the mattress at the curb by 6:30 a.m. on that day.
Get it ready
Keep the mattress inside the ten item limit and manageable for a two-person crew, set it near the carts with the handles and wheels facing the home, and keep anything that does not fit the bulky definition out of the pile.
Couches, sleeper couches, chairs, desks, tables and shelves are named bulky items, and the yearly donation pickup also takes furniture.
City cost & eligibility
No charge. Included in the three free bulky item pickups a calendar year, each covering up to ten large items, for a residential customer whose items a two-person crew can handle. The yearly reusable donation pickup is also free and takes furniture such as sofas, tables, chairs and dressers.
When & how
Book the bulky pickup with CR&R for your regular collection day, or book the year's donation pickup when the piece is still good enough to resell.
Get it ready
Keep the pieces inside the ten item limit and manageable for a two-person crew, and keep glassware, mattresses, automotive parts and hazardous waste out of a donation pile because those are refused.
A range, washer or dryer is a named bulky item, while a refrigerator or another unit holding Freon needs a separate special collection.
City cost & eligibility
No charge. Included in the three free bulky item pickups a calendar year, each covering up to ten large items. A refrigerator or another appliance holding Freon is a separate collection with special handling and no published price, and the hauler groups dishwashers and microwaves with electronic waste as charged collections.
When & how
Book a range, washer or dryer with CR&R at (949) 520-6005 for your regular collection day, and book a separate special collection for a refrigerator, freezer or other unit holding Freon.
Get it ready
Empty the appliance, remove or secure a door that could trap a child, and never set a unit holding refrigerant loose at the curb because it only moves on an arranged collection.
Electronic waste cannot go in any cart, and it moves through a charged curbside collection, a free household hazardous waste pickup or a free county collection centre.
City cost & eligibility
The hauler collects electronic waste at the curb for a nominal charge and publishes no amount, so confirm the price with CR&R at (949) 520-6005. Two free routes exist beside it: single-family homes get up to two household hazardous waste pickups a calendar year that include personal electronic items, and the county collection centres take electronic waste from Orange County residents at no charge.
When & how
Call CR&R at (949) 520-6005 to arrange a curbside collection, book one of the two free household hazardous waste pickups at least five business days ahead, or take the device to a county collection centre Tuesday through Saturday between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m.
Get it ready
Erase personal information from a computer, phone or drive before the device leaves your hands because no destruction happens at the county centres, remove loose batteries where the device allows, and keep electronic waste and universal waste out of all three carts.
Construction and demolition material is refused in the carts and the bulky pickup, and moves through a temporary CR&R container or a self-haul load at a county landfill.
City cost & eligibility
The city rate sheet publishes mixed construction and demolition processing for temporary bins from two cubic yards to a forty cubic yard roll-off box, and the county landfills charge public disposal by vehicle size or weight with an added charge for hard-to-handle items longer than six feet. Confirm the container size, the rate and the load classification before the material moves.
When & how
Order the bin or roll-off from CR&R at (949) 520-6005, or haul the load to Olinda Alpha Landfill in Brea or Prima Deshecha Landfill in San Juan Capistrano between 7 a.m. and 4 p.m. or 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday with the load tarped or secured.
Get it ready
Keep construction and demolition material out of the carts and off the bulky pile, keep household hazardous waste out of the load entirely, and check the destination before loading because treated wood is refused at Olinda Alpha and taken at Prima Deshecha.
Exercise equipment is not named in the bulky list, so the hauler confirms the machine first, and a county landfill takes it as a hard-to-handle item when it is long.
City cost & eligibility
No published bulky example or price covers an exercise machine, so confirm the item with CR&R at (949) 520-6005 before booking it. A county landfill adds the hard-to-handle charge for an item longer than six feet and applies its regular public disposal fee to the rest of the load.
When & how
Call CR&R with the machine type and size before your collection day, or take it to a county landfill as part of a household load and pay at the scale.
Get it ready
Fold or tie down the deck and handles, remove any console or battery pack so it can be handled separately, and keep the machine out of the recycling and organics carts.
Each residential customer gets three free bulky item pickups a calendar year, each covering up to ten large items.
City cost & eligibility
No charge. Three free bulky item pickups per calendar year for a residential customer, with up to ten large items in each pickup. Additional pickups may be arranged for a nominal charge that no retained page states, so confirm the amount with CR&R.
When & how
Book the pickup with CR&R at (949) 520-6005 or through the online scheduling service for your regular collection day, and set the items at the curb by 6:30 a.m. that day.
Get it ready
Keep each pickup to ten large items that a two-person crew can handle, keep the lids closed with nothing loose beside the carts, and route hazardous waste, electronic waste, construction material and a unit holding Freon separately because none of those ride this collection. Residents of an HOA or a community with shared trash enclosures book through the HOA or property manager.
Keep each bulky pickup to ten large items a two-person crew can handle
A bulky pickup may include up to ten large items, and every item has to be something a two-person crew can handle and transport. Items that cannot fit in the carts are the ones that qualify, and residents of an HOA or a community with shared trash enclosures book through the HOA or property manager instead.
Carts out by 6:30 a.m. with nothing loose beside them
Carts go to the curb no later than 6:30 a.m. on collection day and come back in within 12 hours after service, with the handles and wheels facing the home, about one foot between carts and three feet of clearance from vehicles, hydrants and trees. Lids stay closed and anything left outside a cart is not collected, so a large item needs a booked bulky pickup instead.
Hazardous waste, electronic waste and a Freon unit stay off the carts
Household hazardous waste is illegal in any cart, and electronic waste and universal waste are barred from every automated container as well. A refrigerator or another unit holding Freon needs a separate collection, and household hazardous waste moves through the two free pickups a year for single-family homes or through a county collection centre instead.
Use a permitted, accessible outdoor spot. Arrange the move out of your home, keep shared access clear and follow your confirmation’s readiness instructions. Check with your building about access or staging limits before booking.
