Loose items are not collected, so bag, box or bundle all material for the appointment. Yard trimmings must be under three inches in diameter and three feet long and bundled, and small motors such as lawnmowers must be drained of gas and oil before collection.
Send electronics and hazardous material to their own sites
Electronics are refused on the Petaluma bulky pickup and drop free at County Refuse Disposal Sites or county e-waste events, with personal data wiped first. The Central Landfill at 500 Mecham Road takes disposal loads Monday through Saturday from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., with a Reuse and Recycling Center for scrap metal, cardboard, glass, metal and plastic containers and newspaper, a Recycletown reuse area for donated goods next to the recycling drop-off zone, and free drop-off for accepted electronics at county refuse disposal sites.
