Electronic waste is a published pickup option: a household may use five e-waste items as one of its bulky pickups, and the hauler's flyer counts up to five e-waste items as one bulky item. Televisions, laptops and microwaves cannot go to a Neighborhood Dumpster Day, and the city routes that material to the West County hazardous waste facility.

Get it ready
Box small e-waste peripherals as the flyer requires, wipe personal data before handover, and keep electronics out of the dumpster days and the carts, because the city lists e-waste as prohibited at those events.
Pick one of the five published options for the pickup
Each on-call bulky pickup uses one of five options: up to fifteen 35 gallon bags with a 50 pound per bag maximum, four 95 gallon bags with the same maximum, five e-waste items, up to 1.8 cubic yards of uncontainerized garbage or organic waste, or, a maximum of once a year, a large item pickup of up to three large items. The hauler's flyer caps each item at 200 pounds, requires small e-waste peripherals to be boxed, and warns that anything beyond three bulky items carries an extra charge.
Use a permitted, accessible outdoor spot. Arrange the move out of your home, keep shared access clear and follow your confirmation’s readiness instructions. Check with your building about access or staging limits before booking.

Schedule an on-call bulky pickup
A household in a single-family home, duplex, triplex or fourplex with furniture, an appliance, e-waste, bagged material or a large item to clear out.
Cost & conditions
No charge. Up to three bulky waste pickups each calendar year at no charge for single-family homes, duplexes, triplexes and fourplexes. A pickup beyond the free allowance is scheduled for a fee.
Arrange it
Call Republic Services at 510.262.7100 at least 10 workdays before the collection day, choose one of the five published options, and set the material out for the next scheduled collection day.
Each item must be 200 pounds or less and household-sized, and construction and demolition waste, hazardous waste, commercial-sized appliances and the long never-taken list are refused.

Drive to the West County facility at 101 Pittsburg Ave in Richmond, open Wednesday to Saturday from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM with a midday closure from noon to 12:30 PM, or to the El Cerrito Recycling Center, with identification or proof of residency.
The per-visit limit is 15 gallons or 125 pounds per vehicle, so a larger load has to be split across visits, and the city lists the material it prohibits in the carts as the material for this route.

Do you erase data from old computers?+
Data erasure and certified data destruction are not included in Dropcurb removal. Back up the information you need, then follow the manufacturer’s sign-out and reset instructions before pickup. If a device cannot be erased or contains sensitive business information, arrange suitable data handling before giving it away.
