Choose the right items

One computer setup can be several items.

A separate monitor and tower count separately. Small devices and cables have their own box option. Choose what is actually leaving so your price matches the pickup.

Monitor, desktop or laptop.

Choose Computer monitor for each separate display. Desktop computer covers one tower or one all-in-one computer. A laptop is its own item. Add only the devices going.

Printer or office copier.

A printer with a built-in scanner belongs under Printer. A floor-standing copy machine belongs under Office copier. The shape matters more than the brand.

A box of smaller electronics.

Use Box of electronics for small devices, cables and chargers together in one box. For a large or heavy box, unusual contents or separate batteries, send a photo and confirm the fit before booking.

Televisions and electronics

Accepted with preparation

Televisions and computer monitors are collected as part of the bulky item program, and each screen counts toward the five-item allowance. Electronic waste is also taken at county household hazardous waste sites in Redlands and San Bernardino at no charge for county residents.

City cost & eligibility
No charge. Barrel-serviced residential accounts inside the City of Yucaipa for the bulky collection, up to four collections of five items in a 12 month period; the county household hazardous waste sites are free to San Bernardino County residents who bring identification.
When & how
Book the screen into a collection week with Yucaipa Disposal, or drive it to the Redlands City Yard site on a Saturday or the San Bernardino airport site on a weekday. Call 1-800-OILY CAT before a trip to a county site, because the two published brochures print different Saturday hours for Redlands.
Get it ready
Wipe the drive or reset the device, keep the screen whole and never break a picture tube open. A cathode ray tube television or monitor is refused at county disposal sites that have no scale house, which is one more reason to send an older set through the bulky collection or a hazardous waste site.

Right item.
Right place.

Barrels and bulky items are at the curb by 6:00 a.m.

Place barrels in the street, at the curb or at the corner of the driveway with the handles facing the home, one foot apart and at least three feet from a mailbox, fence, vehicle or other obstruction. Set barrels out the night before or no later than 6:00 a.m. on the service day, because anything left behind waits for the next week.

Call a week before a bulky collection week

Bulky items are collected on a separate truck during the second week of February, May, August and November, so call Yucaipa Disposal at least one week before the scheduled collection day. Keep hazardous waste, tires, oil and paint out of the pile, because those are refused and cannot go in a barrel either.

Take the doors off a large appliance before set-out

Remove the doors and hinges from a refrigerator, freezer, oven or similar unit before it goes to the curb, and keep the cord and loose parts with the appliance. A refrigerator that goes to a county site instead has to arrive with no Freon left in it, so settle which route the unit is taking when the collection is booked.

Yucaipa Disposal, Inc. (Burrtec) and San Bernardino County

Free household hazardous waste drop-off and electronic waste for county residents

A household with paint, motor oil, batteries, pesticides, pool chemicals, old medications, sharps or electronic waste that cannot go in any barrel.

Cost & conditions
No charge. Free to San Bernardino County residents who bring identification, up to 15 gallons or 125 pounds per visit in containers no larger than five gallons; business, non-profit and organizational waste has to use the county's small business program instead.
Arrange it
Take the material to the Redlands City Yard site at 500 Kansas Street, which is open on Saturday, or to the San Bernardino airport site at 2824 East W Street, Building 302, which is open Monday to Friday, and call 1-800-OILY CAT before the trip to confirm the hours.

The facilities refuse appliances, furniture, tires, solid waste and yard waste, and nothing larger than a five-gallon container is accepted. The county's own brochure prints different Saturday hours for Redlands on two of its pages, so a phone confirmation is part of the trip.

Taking it somewhere yourself?

San Bernardino County takes self-haul loads at San Timoteo Landfill, 31 Refuse Road in Redlands, Monday to Saturday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and at Mid-Valley Landfill, 2390 Alder Avenue in Rialto, Monday to Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Saturday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The published charge is a flat rate for up to 300 pounds of ordinary residential waste, a per-ton rate above 301 pounds, a per-tire fee for up to nine rollable tires off the rim, and separate per-ton hard-to-handle and special-handling rates with a minimum load charge. Tires, construction debris and metal loads arrive at the same gate, a refrigerator is accepted only with no Freon left in it, treated wood waste is taken at Mid-Valley and Victorville only, and an uncovered or unsecured load doubles the disposal fee. Both sites close on New Year's Day, Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day, and household hazardous waste and electronic waste are handled through the county's separate household hazardous waste program. Before you book

A few things
worth knowing.

Electronics removal, from choosing your item to pickup day in Yucaipa.

How much does electronics pickup cost in Yucaipa?

A computer monitor is $79 as the first item and $19 as an additional item. Choose the actual devices and quantities to see your combined price online. A separate desktop tower and monitor are separate items. Loading, transportation and disposal are included; review the total and any applicable tax before payment.

Can you pick up old electronics today in Yucaipa?

Book by 2pm at your pickup address for same-day pickup. Choose from the dates shown at checkout and have the prepared items outside according to your confirmation. We text you when your hauler is on the way and provide photos when the pickup is done. The booking is for a day, not an exact arrival time.

Does computer removal include my monitor and printer?

Desktop computer covers one tower or one all-in-one computer. Add a separate monitor, printer or laptop as its own item if it is going too. For small devices, cables and chargers together, choose Box of electronics and check the description before booking.

Do you erase data from old computers?

Data erasure and certified data destruction are not included in Dropcurb removal. Back up the information you need, then follow the manufacturer’s sign-out and reset instructions before pickup. If a device cannot be erased or contains sensitive business information, arrange suitable data handling before giving it away. Completion photos confirm the pickup, not data destruction.Official guidance

Can I book one box of old cables and small electronics?

Yes. Box of electronics is an existing option for small devices, cables and chargers together in one box. A monitor, desktop computer and printer each have their own item option. Send a photo before booking for a large or heavy box, unusual contents or separate batteries so we can confirm the fit.

Where does a Yucaipa television go?

A television goes out as a bulky item with the separate bulky truck, and monitors are named in the same program line. The alternative is electronic waste drop-off at a county household hazardous waste site, which takes older tube televisions that a county landfill without a scale house will refuse.Official guidance

Who collects trash in Yucaipa?

Yucaipa Disposal, Inc., part of Burrtec Waste Industries, collects trash, recycling and green waste once a week from single-family homes inside the City of Yucaipa and runs the bulky item program on a separate truck. Residential collection is mandatory and the charges are billed on the annual property tax roll.Official guidance

How many bulky items does a Yucaipa household get in a year?

Four collections in a 12 month period with up to five items in each collection, scheduled in the second week of February, May, August and November. Furniture, appliances, mattresses and electronic waste are the named items, a separate truck makes the pickup, and the program comes with the residential account at no additional charge.Official guidance

How far ahead does a bulky pickup have to be booked?

Call Yucaipa Disposal at least one week before the scheduled collection day. Items belong at the curb rather than in the street, out by 6:00 a.m., and the unscheduled pile that sits at the curb waits for the next collection window because the bulky truck only takes what was arranged.Official guidance

What can never go in a Yucaipa barrel?

Batteries, electronic waste, hazardous waste, paint, oil, pesticides, fluorescent bulbs, sharps, tires, hot ashes and flammables are all marked as not allowed in the city's barrel guide. Household hazardous waste goes to a county collection facility instead, free for county residents with identification, up to 15 gallons or 125 pounds per visit in containers no larger than five gallons.Official guidance
