Park Ave., entered from Kansas Street north of Redlands Animal Control, and runs on Saturdays from 7:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. It is closed on holiday weekends and when it rains, each visit is limited to 15 gallons or 125 pounds in containers no larger than five gallons, and a leaking container has to go inside a larger container or bag. Sharps go in an approved sharps container rather than a juice bottle or a coffee can.
Redlands does not collect on Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day or New Year's Day, and the rest of that week runs one day later. Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Presidents' Day, Cesar Chavez Day, Juneteenth, Columbus Day and Veterans Day do not change the collection schedule. A bulky pickup is booked onto the regular service day, so a holiday week moves it as well.
