Front Range Recycling Services offers free pickup of metal goods including units that contain refrigerants and is EPA certified to evacuate them; Ecoprojex picks up major working appliances under seven years old including air conditioning units, swamp coolers and water heaters with CFC certification; Habitat for Humanity ReStore accepts appliance drop-offs and offers pickup; and the Sedalia Landfill accepts appliances and charges its published Freon recovery fee. From $106 for the base rate charge per ton published by the landfill, with job specific rates on request, asphalt and wood shake shingles priced by the yard and a published Freon recovery fee for an appliance. Castle Pines residents delivering their own load. Every vehicle is weighed, payment is by cash or credit card only, and an after hours charge applies when a vehicle is not back on the scale before closing.
Arrange it
Drive to 5970 North Hwy 85 in Sedalia, open Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., and arrive before the last half hour so the load can be unloaded.
Residential and restaurant waste, food waste, paint, liquids, auto fluids, batteries, electronics, hazardous waste, asbestos and manure are all refused, so this is a project and bulky load route rather than a household trash route.

Monday through Saturday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., year round and weather permitting, with the last appointment at 4:30 p.m. and the site closed on Sunday and on county holidays. What do I do with yard debris?+
Two free options. The county's slash-mulch and green yard waste site at 5675 Delva Way in Sedalia takes brush, grass, leaves, natural mulch, pine needles, pinecones, sawdust, shrubs, sod, tree limbs and weeds year round with no appointment, as long as the load is covered and none of it is lumber, pallets, dirt, stumps, construction debris or anything with nails or wire. Where does old paint go?+
Paint is accepted free at the GreenWorks household hazardous waste drop-off with an appointment, within the container limits, and the county also points to the statewide paint stewardship program, where most drop-off sites take up to five gallons a visit and all paint retailers accept smaller quantities for free.
