A mattress or box spring is accepted at Front Range Landfill at a published per piece fee, and either the city clean-out voucher or the Weld County large item voucher can cover a qualifying load instead.
City cost & eligibility
$74 for the published per item fee for a mattress or box spring at Front Range Landfill. The city's spring clean-out voucher covers one secured load of up to one ton and the Weld County large item voucher covers one truckload or trailer load of up to one ton, so a qualifying load can clear the item fee, and anything above the voucher allowance is charged at the scale.
When & how
Take the mattress to Front Range Landfill at 1830 Weld County Rd 5 in Erie, open Monday through Friday 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday 6 a.m. to 2 p.m., or use one of the spring vouchers at the gate.
Get it ready
Cover or secure the load, because an uncovered load is charged double, wear a safety vest if you leave the vehicle, and collect a voucher before travelling because vouchers are not issued at the gate.
The city issues one clean-out voucher per household, the voucher has to be presented to the gate attendant or landfill charges apply, vouchers are picked up in person at Dacono City Hall during the spring window and redeemed at the landfill inside the stated month, and they are not available at the gate. One load means a single vehicle or truck, a vehicle with a trailer counts as two loads, the load has to be covered or secured, a maximum one-ton limit applies, and appliances are excluded from the program.
Front Range Landfill is at 1830 Weld County Rd 5 in Erie, open Monday through Friday 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday 6 a.m. to 2 p.m., closed Sunday and on listed holidays. Anyone who leaves a vehicle has to wear a safety vest, payments are by American Express, Discover, MasterCard or Visa, and an uncovered or unsecured load is charged double per state requirements.
Use a permitted, accessible outdoor spot. Arrange the move out of your home, keep shared access clear and follow your confirmation’s readiness instructions. Check with your building about access or staging limits before booking.
City of Dacono with Waste Connections of Colorado and Weld County
Use the annual clean-out month voucher
A Dacono household with large items, furniture, a mattress or a load of household material that fits one secured vehicle load.
Cost & conditions
No charge. One voucher per Dacono household covers one load at Front Range Landfill up to one ton, with a vehicle and trailer counted as two loads and any additional weight or volume charged at the scale.
Arrange it
Pick the voucher up in person at Dacono City Hall during the spring pickup window, then redeem it at Front Range Landfill inside the stated month.
Appliances are excluded from the voucher program, vouchers are not available at the gate, the load has to be covered or secured, a safety vest has to be bought and worn at the landfill, and the one-ton limit applies.
City of Dacono with Waste Connections of Colorado and Weld County
Use a Weld County large item voucher
A Weld County household with a mattress, a couch, a table or another large item for one of the three county landfills.
Cost & conditions
No charge. A limited number of vouchers cover one free trip of a truckload level with the bed rails up to one ton, or one trailer load up to one ton, valid March 2 through October 31, 2026, with additional weight or volume charged at the scale.
Arrange it
Collect the voucher at the Dacono hazardous waste facility at 5500 Highway 52 on Wednesday, Friday or Saturday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., the Greeley facility at 1311 N. 17th Ave. on Tuesday, Thursday or Saturday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., or the county health department at 1555 N. 17th Ave. in Greeley on weekdays, then use it at Front Range Landfill in Erie, North Weld Landfill in Ault or Buffalo Ridge Landfill in Keenesburg.
Large items such as mattresses, couches and tables are named as covered, the voucher is valid only through October 31, 2026, the county issues a limited number, and anything above the covered weight or volume is paid at the scale.
A household or contractor that wants a pickup or a container instead of driving to a landfill.
Cost & conditions
The city publishes no bulky pickup or container rate, so a private hauler, junk removal company or container company quotes its own price; confirm the accepted material and any weight allowance before booking.
Arrange it
Contact a licensed hauler or container company serving Dacono, or ask Waste Connections about extra service, and confirm where the material is taken and what it costs.
A refrigerator, freezer, air conditioner, tire, electronic device or liquid still cannot be disposed of in a Colorado landfill, so those items have to be separated before a hauler takes the rest.
Mattresses and box springs, couches, loveseats and sectionals, white goods such as dishwashers, dryers, furnaces, hot water heaters, stoves and washers, construction debris, concrete and asphalt, clean soil, household municipal waste, yard waste and tree branches, a gas grill with the propane tank removed, a lawnmower or trimmer with the liquids removed and a treadmill without a computer.
Air conditioners, batteries, biohazardous waste, electronic waste, freezers, hazardous waste, hot ashes, liquids such as paint, oil and chemicals, fluorescent bulbs, refrigerators, propane containers, tires and toxic waste are refused. Anyone who leaves a vehicle has to wear a safety vest, and an uncovered or unsecured load is charged double per state requirements.
Monday through Friday 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday 6 a.m. to 2 p.m., closed Sunday and on listed holidays.

Before you book
A few things worth knowing.
Mattress removal, from choosing your item to pickup day in Dacono.
How much does mattress removal cost in Dacono?+
The price depends on the mattress size you choose. A queen mattress is $99 as the first item and $30 as an additional item. Loading, transportation and disposal are included. Add any box spring or frame separately, then review your total and any applicable tax before payment.
Can I book same-day mattress pickup in Dacono?+
Book by 2pm at your pickup address for same-day pickup. Choose from the dates shown at checkout. Have the mattress outside and accessible according to your confirmation. Your booking is for a day rather than an exact arrival time, and we text you when your hauler is on the way.
Is my box spring or bed frame included in mattress removal?+
The mattress price covers the mattress only. Add your box spring, bed frame or adjustable base separately if those are going too. Choose the size and type that match each item. The combined price appears before booking.
Will you carry my mattress downstairs or out of my apartment?+
Dropcurb starts outside. You arrange to move the mattress out of your apartment and down interior stairs before pickup. We load it and take it away from an accessible outdoor spot. Check your building’s access rules before arranging the move outside.
Can you pick up my old mattress when my new one arrives?+
You can choose an offered pickup day around your replacement delivery. First check whether the retailer already includes old-mattress removal, and arrange who will bring it outside if needed. Dropcurb books a pickup day, not the retailer’s delivery window. Contact us before booking if access is limited to a short time.
Where does a Dacono mattress go?+
A mattress or box spring is accepted at Front Range Landfill in Erie at a published per piece fee, and both the city clean-out voucher and the Weld County large item voucher can cover one qualifying load instead. Collect the voucher before the trip, because neither the city nor the county issues one at the gate.Official guidance
When can a Dacono household use the clean-out voucher?+
The citywide clean-out month runs in the spring, with vouchers picked up in person at Dacono City Hall during a published April window and redeemed at the landfill inside the stated May window, and the city does not issue vouchers at the gate. Weld County's separate large item voucher is valid from March 2 through October 31, 2026 and is collected at the Dacono hazardous waste facility, the Greeley facility or the county health department.Official guidance
