Get it ready
Keep the piece dry and inside the one-ton voucher limit, cover and secure the load, and keep electronics, liquids and hazardous waste out of the vehicle because the landfill refuses them.
The city issues one clean-out voucher per household, the voucher has to be presented to the gate attendant or landfill charges apply, vouchers are picked up in person at Dacono City Hall during the spring window and redeemed at the landfill inside the stated month, and they are not available at the gate. One load means a single vehicle or truck, a vehicle with a trailer counts as two loads, the load has to be covered or secured, a maximum one-ton limit applies, and appliances are excluded from the program.
Front Range Landfill is at 1830 Weld County Rd 5 in Erie, open Monday through Friday 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday 6 a.m. to 2 p.m., closed Sunday and on listed holidays. Anyone who leaves a vehicle has to wear a safety vest, payments are by American Express, Discover, MasterCard or Visa, and an uncovered or unsecured load is charged double per state requirements.

Cost & conditions
No charge. One voucher per Dacono household covers one load at Front Range Landfill up to one ton, with a vehicle and trailer counted as two loads and any additional weight or volume charged at the scale.
Arrange it
Pick the voucher up in person at Dacono City Hall during the spring pickup window, then redeem it at Front Range Landfill inside the stated month.
Appliances are excluded from the voucher program, vouchers are not available at the gate, the load has to be covered or secured, a safety vest has to be bought and worn at the landfill, and the one-ton limit applies.

Use a Weld County large item voucher
A Weld County household with a mattress, a couch, a table or another large item for one of the three county landfills.
Cost & conditions
No charge. A limited number of vouchers cover one free trip of a truckload level with the bed rails up to one ton, or one trailer load up to one ton, valid March 2 through October 31, 2026, with additional weight or volume charged at the scale.
Arrange it
Collect the voucher at the Dacono hazardous waste facility at 5500 Highway 52 on Wednesday, Friday or Saturday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., the Greeley facility at 1311 N. 17th Ave. on Tuesday, Thursday or Saturday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., or the county health department at 1555 N. 17th Ave. in Greeley on weekdays, then use it at Front Range Landfill in Erie, North Weld Landfill in Ault or Buffalo Ridge Landfill in Keenesburg.
Large items such as mattresses, couches and tables are named as covered, the voucher is valid only through October 31, 2026, the county issues a limited number, and anything above the covered weight or volume is paid at the scale.

The city publishes no bulky pickup or container rate, so a private hauler, junk removal company or container company quotes its own price; confirm the accepted material and any weight allowance before booking.

Air conditioners, batteries, biohazardous waste, electronic waste, freezers, hazardous waste, hot ashes, liquids such as paint, oil and chemicals, fluorescent bulbs, refrigerators, propane containers, tires and toxic waste are refused. Anyone who leaves a vehicle has to wear a safety vest, and an uncovered or unsecured load is charged double per state requirements.
