Add each furniture item and its quantity. See the combined price before you pay, with loading, transportation and disposal included.

Choose each piece
You don’t need to guess how much space your furniture fills in a truck. Match each piece to the catalog, then add its quantity. Your total updates as you go.

Match the dresser’s overall size. Add a separate dresser mirror as its own item if it is leaving too. Empty drawers and keep the belongings you want before moving the dresser outside.
Choose by construction, not height alone. A basic desk is different from a heavy desk with a substantial body. A tall, lightweight bookcase can still be a standard bookshelf. Empty it first.

A single-family Northglenn household can have up to ten bulky items that will not fit in the trash cart picked up from the street, with two free special pickups a calendar year and a per request charge after that.
The handoff matters
The request has to reach the sanitation division at least 48 hours before the scheduled trash day, and it has to list every item, because crews collect only what is on the special pickup ticket. Nothing goes out until the confirmation arrives, and on the day the load has to be in the street by 7 a.m. rather than on a sidewalk or a driveway.

Used motor oil and antifreeze used to be collected the same way, up to five gallons a week in clear one-gallon containers marked with the address and with taped lids, but the City states that from July 1, 2026 it no longer accepts either at the curb.

Furniture removal, from choosing your item to pickup day in Northglenn.
Choose the type and size of each piece to see its price. For example, a medium dresser is $79 as the first item or $29 as an additional item. Your total starts with the highest first-item price in your selection, then uses the additional-item price for every other item. Review the complete total and any applicable tax before payment.

The first two special pickups in a calendar year are free, and each additional request is charged per request. Tires carry their own charge, with a lower rate for a car tire and a higher rate for a truck tire, and the tire has to be off the rim. Any charge appears on the household trash bill.Official guidance
In a special pickup the published charge covers the first two pieces and a smaller charge applies to each additional piece. The alternative is a scheduled drop-off at the Yard Waste Mulching Center during Saturday business hours, at a published per piece rate, with identification required and an appointment booked in advance.Official guidance
The City's own sanitation division. For single-family residences the City states it can assist with discarding any household item or direct the resident to someone who can, and the contact is 303.450.4004 or sanitation@northglenn.org, Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.Official guidance
Alkaline batteries, which are the non-rechargeable kind, go in the regular trash. Rechargeable batteries go to the in-store recycling center at the Lowe's on 261 W. 104th Ave. Automotive batteries are different again: the City collects up to two a week on the scheduled trash day if they are placed next to the trash cart in the street rather than inside it.Official guidance
No. The City used to collect up to five gallons of used motor oil or antifreeze a week in clear one-gallon containers marked with the address and with taped lids, but it states that from July 1, 2026 it no longer accepts either at the curb. Most auto parts retailers and some oil change stations take used oil, and Veolia accepts oil and antifreeze for a fee.Official guidance
Yes. Mulch is available to residents, the general public and businesses during yard waste drop-off hours, with no identification required and no charge, and the City refills a large pile at the same site.
