White goods such as dishwashers, dryers, furnaces, water heaters, stoves and washers are accepted at the landfill at a published per piece fee, while a refrigerant unit is refused.
City cost & eligibility
$80 for the published per item fee for white goods at Front Range Landfill. White goods accepted for recycling are dishwashers, dryers, furnaces, hot water heaters, stoves and washers. Refrigerators, freezers and air conditioners are refused at the landfill, and appliances are excluded from the city clean-out voucher, so a refrigerant unit needs another arrangement.
When & how
Take a qualifying white good to Front Range Landfill in Erie during its published hours, and keep a refrigerator, freezer or air conditioner off the load because the landfill will refuse it.
Get it ready
Empty the appliance and remove the liquids or fuel from any lawn equipment, and check the item against the landfill's accepted list before loading because a refrigerant unit cannot be disposed of there.
Front Range Landfill is at 1830 Weld County Rd 5 in Erie, open Monday through Friday 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday 6 a.m. to 2 p.m., closed Sunday and on listed holidays. Anyone who leaves a vehicle has to wear a safety vest, payments are by American Express, Discover, MasterCard or Visa, and an uncovered or unsecured load is charged double per state requirements.
Refrigerators, tires, electronics and liquids stay out of the load
The landfill refuses air conditioners, batteries, electronic waste, freezers, hazardous waste, hot ashes, liquids such as paint, oil and chemicals, fluorescent bulbs, refrigerators, propane containers and tires, and electronic devices have been banned from Colorado landfills since July 1, 2013. Household chemicals go to the Weld County facility inside Dacono instead, and electronics go to a registered state recycler.

Can I book if the delivery company did not take my old appliance?+
Yes. Dropcurb pickup is separate from buying or installing a replacement, so you can book removal on its own. Select the old appliance, choose a pickup day and arrange for it to be disconnected and accessible outside. If your new delivery is still ahead, confirm the retailer’s haul-away arrangements before booking a separate pickup.
