City cost & eligibility
No charge. No charge at the Large Item Clean-Up for appliances without Freon in the covered neighborhoods, one pass only. A Freon appliance, including a refrigerator or air conditioner, has to go through the hauler's scheduled bulky pickup at the hauler's own price.
When & how
The sweep runs in Area 1 from September 14 to 16 and Area 2 from September 21 to 23 with a 7:00 AM curbside deadline. A hauler pickup is booked separately on a scheduled day.

Empty and defrost the unit, secure the doors, keep it light enough for two people to handle, and check the refrigerant status before setting anything out, because a Freon appliance is refused at the sweep and has to be booked with the hauler.
The Large Item Clean-Up sweeps the whole city in two areas during the weeks of September 14 and September 21, with each neighborhood assigned one date inside Area 1 from September 14 to 16 or Area 2 from September 21 to 23. Crews make a single pass, so items have to be bundled or packaged, sitting curbside in front of the property, and out by 7:00 AM on the assigned date, and any pile that is late or placed on private property may be refused or charged a special collection fee.
