Anything with a cord has to be wrapped and taped to the side of the item, and no glass or mirrors are accepted at all.
Sofas, couches, love seats, recliners, chairs, tables, dressers, desks, end tables, coffee tables, doors and bundled carpet are all on the city's acceptable list for the large item pickup.

For a large item pickup the city sizes each piece the way its list describes it, with doors cut in half and glass free, garage doors taken at four feet per section, a couch charged per section and anything with a cord taped to the item. For the alley cleanup and the drop off days, items go out by 7 a.m., everything is bagged or bundled, no bag or bundle is over fifty pounds, and long pieces are cut to four feet, with branches bundled in four foot lengths no larger than eighteen inches in diameter.

Saturday March 21 and Saturday October 17, 2026 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., with Sticks to Chips branch chipping drop off in the same window and chipped material pickup from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.
No charge. The drop off days are free to Edgewater residents. Items that are on the refused list are not accepted, and a load over the three television limit is turned away.
