Treadmill, walking pad or commercial model?
Household treadmill includes folding home models with a tall console. Choose Walking pad for a compact under-desk model, or Commercial treadmill for a large gym machine. All equipment opens those choices.
An exercise bike, elliptical or rower
Spin, upright, recumbent and air bikes all use Exercise bike, including Peloton and other brands. One elliptical includes its connected base, handles and pedals. Rowing machines and Pilates reformers have their own choices.
Weights, racks and benches
Add together the pounds of loose dumbbells, kettlebells, plates and barbells. Free weights are priced in 10 lb units, rounding the combined weight up. For example, 25 lb uses three units. Add a stand, rack or bench separately if it is going too.

A lawn mower is on the City's acceptable list for a large item pickup, but exercise machines are not named there, so a treadmill or a weight machine has to be cleared with the collection line before it is booked. Anything refused at the curb can still be hauled to the Denver Arapahoe Disposal Site, which accepts bulky items and mixed loads.
City cost & eligibility
The first large item pickup in a calendar year is free and further items are priced individually, and exercise equipment is not on the City's published acceptable list. Confirm with the collection line whether the machine is covered, and confirm the scale charge if it is hauled to the landfill instead.
When & how
A large item request made by 5 p.m. on Thursday is collected the following Tuesday. The Denver Arapahoe Disposal Site takes loads Monday through Friday from 6 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. and Saturday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., closed Sunday.
Get it ready
Separate the console or any other electronic attachment from the machine before disposal, because electronics are refused at the curb and prohibited from landfill disposal in Colorado. Weigh the frame before booking so the item can be described accurately.

A couch, a recliner, a love seat, a dresser, a desk, a table, a water bed, a lawn mower, bundled carpet, a porcelain fixture, doors, a wooden crib or a garage door in sections.
Cost & conditions
No charge. One free large item pickup per household per calendar year. Additional items are scheduled for a fee the City does not publish, so confirm the amount when booking.
Arrange it
Request the pickup through the City's collection line at 5280 Waste Solutions. Each household receives one free large item pickup per calendar year, and additional items can be scheduled year-round for a fee.
The program takes only what the City lists as acceptable. Cast iron, cement, steel, tires, appliances, dirt, rocks, bricks, chemicals, paint, batteries, stumps, windshield glass, medical waste, appliances with refrigerant, televisions and all electronics are refused.
WM lists construction and demolition debris, shingles, roofing materials, drywall, wood, concrete, glass, metals, mixed loads, brush, stumps, mulch, yard waste and bulky items at this regional non-hazardous waste facility.
The site states that it does not accept hazardous waste, and no standard disposal rate is published on the cited pages. Confirm the item and the current charge before travel.

Which option covers a Peloton, spin bike or recumbent bike?+
Choose Exercise bike for one stationary bike, including spin, upright, recumbent and air bikes. Peloton and other brands use the same stationary-bike choice. A treadmill, walking pad and outdoor bicycle are different items, so select their matching options.
How do I book free weights, a weight rack or a bench?+
