City cost & eligibility
From $60 for the published large item collection fee for one or two items. A large item pickup costs $60 for one or two items and $75 for three items, which is the maximum, with the fee applied to the utility bill. The Hard to Recycle event takes the first mattress or box spring free and charges $35.00 for each additional one, and the city's two free landfill days take one level pickup truck load of large items and debris at no charge.

Call Waste Services at 303-651-8416 to book a large item pickup for your regular collection day, reserve a slot at the October Hard to Recycle event, or take the mattress to a free landfill day.
Get it ready
Keep the pickup to three items at most, leave the item inside until the Saturday before the scheduled collection because the municipal code prohibits setting special collection items out earlier, and keep the load covered and secured at the landfill.
A large item pickup is limited to three items and comes with a set-out rule
A large item pickup is booked through Waste Services at 303-651-8416 and collected on the regular trash day, with the published fee charged to the utility bill and three items as the maximum. The Longmont Municipal Code prohibits placing special collection items out before the Saturday before the scheduled collection, and the route refuses construction and landscape debris, concrete, rocks, dirt, sod, business waste, hazardous or infectious waste, bulk liquids, vehicle bodies and parts, appliances holding hazardous gases, and large electronics.
Twice a year, on June 13 and August 8 in 2026 from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m., a Longmont resident can bring one level pickup truck load of most large items and debris to Front Range Landfill in Erie at no charge, with a current city utility bill and identification needed at the gate. The landfill does not accept appliances, electronics or tires, oversize and additional loads are billed, and every load has to be covered and secured.

Go to Front Range Landfill at 1830 County Road 5 in Erie on June 13 or August 8, 2026 between 7 a.m. and 2 p.m., with the load covered and secured.

Cost & conditions
$165 for the published four cubic yard residential dumpster rental. The rental runs for seven days between February and October, is dropped off on a Thursday and collected the following Thursday, and the cost is applied to the utility bill.

Landscaping materials, construction materials including concrete, bricks, shingles, drywall, plaster, tile and lumber over three feet, cars and car parts, tires, hazardous materials, electronics and large appliances, ashes, liquids and oils are refused, and the lid has to close at collection.
