Book the unwanted bags and boxes left after packing. Choose an available pickup day before you hand back the keys, and arrange to have them outside.
You do not need a whole house of junk. Select the bags, boxes and larger items you actually have. Your combined price is shown online.

A few simple choices turn a mixed pile into a clear booking. No need to estimate how much of a truck it might fill.
Count each trash bag or filled household box. Books and media go by the box. Clothes, bedding and shoes go by the filled bag. Toys packed together have a Box of toys choice. Ask us about unusually heavy or oversized bags and boxes first.
Empty cardboard is a different choice: choose single empty boxes or tied bundles of 10 flattened boxes. Compacted bales have their own weight-based choices and require loading-dock access. A Storage bin choice covers the empty bin itself; ask us to confirm the contents if they are going too.
Add the actual larger item alongside your bags and boxes, such as a sofa, chair or mattress. It has its own price and preparation. Keep construction materials and items needing special handling out of ordinary household bags.

Click and Haul is Thornton's bulky collection. The city charges the six cubic yard collection price for six cubic yards, described as two normal pickup truck loads, and more than two full loads costs a higher price or more, billed on the next utility bill.
Furniture is on the eligible list for Click and Haul, so a couch moves on a scheduled city collection inside the six cubic yard price. The city drop-off sites and the landfill day both refuse or question household furniture, so Click and Haul is the route.
Thornton runs a free appointment based mattress recycling drop-off for residents at the Infrastructure Maintenance Center, and Spring Back Colorado takes mattresses year round for a fee. Mattresses are also eligible in a Click and Haul collection.
Thornton residents may drop appliances such as refrigerators, dishwashers and water heaters at the Infrastructure Maintenance Center on weekdays, and appliances are also eligible in a Click and Haul collection.
Electronics are refused in a Click and Haul pile and at the recycling drop-offs, and they move instead through the city electronic recycling drop-off days, where a vehicle pays a fee per load of televisions or monitors.

The handoff matters
Click and Haul items go on the street, entirely off the property, by 7 a.m. on the scheduled collection day, where a car would parallel park. Nothing goes out more than 24 hours before the collection, the pile needs space around it and away from tree branches and parked cars, and items left in the yard, driveway or sidewalk are not collected. A resident who cannot move the load to the street can ask the Community Connections division at 720-977-5800 about help.
