When & how
Recycling runs every other Wednesday on the purple schedule for addresses with Monday and Thursday garbage collection and the yellow schedule for Tuesday and Friday addresses. Containers go to the curb no later than 7 a.m. on the collection day.
Get it ready
Keep the carts at the curb by 7 a.m. and do not rely on the usual time, since routes change drivers and order. Bag nothing into the recycling cart, keep plastic bags, foam, yard waste, batteries, electronics and tires out of it, and remember that a contaminated load can be rejected at the processor.
Televisions and electronics are scheduled for pickup on any Wednesday along with appliances, they are refused in the recycling cart, and Orange County accepts electronic waste at its drop-off sites.

Get it ready
