The City publishes a per item fee for furniture and appliance collection, and a mattress is not named in that sentence or in the household item list, so confirm whether a mattress is treated as furniture at the published per item fee by calling the Solid Waste Division at 305-460-5346 or emailing pwsolidwaste@coralgables.com.
When & how
Confirm the item first, and if it is accepted, put it outside after 6 p.m. the night before the scheduled trash collection day or book it as a scheduled bulk item.
Get it ready
Keep the mattress out of the garbage can and the recycling bin, which take only the bagged kitchen and restroom stream and the loose recyclables, and keep it dry and whole for the collection.

Can you pick up my old mattress when my new one arrives?+
You can choose an offered pickup day around your replacement delivery. First check whether the retailer already includes old-mattress removal, and arrange who will bring it outside if needed.
