Bulk waste is collected every week on the regular garbage day with no appointment and no additional cost, inside a detailed accepted list.
City cost & eligibility
No charge. The city states plainly that there is no additional cost for bulk waste collection services for a home served through the Residential Curbside Service Program, and no appointment is required. Debris generated by a contractor has to be hauled off by that contractor under the city ordinance.

Get it ready
Accepted material runs from furniture, mattresses and box springs to treadmills, bicycles, grills without the tank, patio furniture, disassembled trampolines and swing sets, large kid items and interior remodeling debris such as toilets, sinks, cabinets, carpet and glass tabletops. Carpets and rugs go out in rolls no longer than five feet and no more than 40 pounds, small remodeling scraps go in reusable containers rather than bags at 40 pounds or less each, and do it yourself interior remodeling debris is capped at two cubic yards a week. Exterior home materials, contractor waste, gas engine equipment, tires and hazardous products are all refused.
Household appliances are collected by appointment, separate from the bulk pile, generally on the regular garbage day and at no additional cost.

Bulk waste goes to the curb by 7 a.m. on the regular collection day and may be collected any time up to noon the following day. Items stay within four feet of the curb, at least four feet of clearance is left between the garbage cart and the pile, and anything set further back cannot be collected. If the pile is still out after noon the next day, report it or call 352-334-2330.
Appliances and large electronics need an appointment
Appliances and large electronics are collected by appointment rather than with the bulk pile, generally on the regular garbage day and at no additional cost. The appliance request is due by noon the day before, and the electronics request by 10 a.m. the day before, with electronics limited to ten items and kept separate from bulk material.
