The city publishes no appliance amount and the county program does not accept appliances at all, so confirm the item, the pickup day and the price with the sanitation office at 850-435-1890, where a scheduled special collection costs less than an unscheduled one.

Get it ready
Empty and clean the unit, remove any door that could trap a child, and ask when you book whether a refrigerator, freezer or other cooling unit needs the refrigerant handled first, because the city publishes no such step. Keep the unit clear of wires, poles, fences and mailboxes, and keep it out of the garbage container.
Large items move by request, not by the weekly route
The weekly truck does not take furniture, appliances or repair debris, so those items need either a scheduled special collection booked through the sanitation office at 850-435-1890 or the once-a-year Mayor's Neighborhood Cleanup day for the address. The city describes the special collection as covering old furniture, household appliances and small amounts of debris from home repairs or remodeling, and it charges for that service with a lower price for the scheduled version.
Items go curbside before 7 a.m. on the scheduled day and no sooner than three days before it. Appliances, electronics, household junk, furniture, mattresses, carpeting, grills without propane tanks, bicycles, toys, tires and old paint cans are eligible; concrete, bricks, blocks, roofing, drywall, more than one cubic yard of lumber, chemicals, pesticides, explosives, ammunition, auto parts, dirt, sod, propane tanks, garbage and yard trash are not. Keep tires and paint cans separate from the rest of the pile.

The city charges for a scheduled special collection and says the scheduled price is significantly lower than an unscheduled collection, but it publishes no amount, so confirm the items, the day and the price by calling 850-435-1890 or sending a service request.
Arrange it
Call 850-435-1890 or submit the city service request form, describe every item that will be at the curb, and book the pickup before the items go out.
The city will not collect concrete, bricks, dirt, sod, roofing material, shingles or hazardous waste, and material left by a contractor has to be removed by that contractor.

Mayor's Neighborhood Cleanup day
A city household that can wait for the cleanup day scheduled for its neighborhood during the January to October cleanup year.
Cost & conditions
No charge. No separate collection charge is published for the cleanup day, which the city runs once a year for each city neighborhood. The program is limited to material at the curb inside the scheduled cleanup area.
Arrange it
Look up the cleanup date for the address on the city map, then put authorized material at the curb before 7 a.m. on that day and no sooner than three days before it.
Concrete, bricks, blocks, roofing, drywall, more than one cubic yard of lumber, household and pool chemicals, pesticides, explosives, ammunition, auto parts, dirt, sod, propane tanks, garbage and yard trash are not eligible, and tires and paint cans have to be separated from the rest of the pile.
