Appliances and white goods

Special rules apply

Appliances do not ride the cleanup pile in Sanford: the city directs residents to call 407-688-5089 for appliances and tires, with a maximum of eight tires. That line is also the contact for any questions about the cleanup.

City cost & eligibility
The city asks residents to call 407-688-5089 for appliance removal but publishes no fee for it, so confirm the terms and any charge on that line before the unit is set out.
When & how
Call 407-688-5089 to arrange the appliance removal, and keep the unit off the cleanup pile and out of the garbage and recycling carts until it is collected.
Get it ready
Empty the unit and keep the doors secured, keep the appliance out of the carts and off the street, and ask on the same call whether the refrigerant inside a refrigerator or air conditioner changes the handling.

Appliances and tires go through their own telephone line

The city's cleanup notice takes appliances and tires out of the pile: residents are told to call 407-688-5089 for removal, with a maximum of eight tires, and the same number answers any questions about the cleanup. No fee is published for that removal, so the terms are confirmed on the call, and the units stay out of the garbage and recycling carts until they are collected.

The county tunnel takes the material the city will not

The Household Hazardous Waste Tunnel inside the Seminole County Central Transfer Station at 1950 State Road 419 in Longwood accepts household chemicals, electronics, tires, automotive fluids, batteries and propane, and sharps are taken at the transfer station in a properly contained sealed container. The drop off is free to all Seminole County residents, including residents of the incorporated cities such as Sanford, and businesses are not permitted to use the programme. The tunnel is open Monday through Saturday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., and the ReUse Shop inside it is open the same days from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. where residents may take up to fifteen items a day with no more than five of any one item after signing a waiver.

The county gate and the landfill are open for self hauled loads

The Central Transfer Station at 1950 State Road 419 in Longwood opens Monday through Saturday from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. with a citizen drop off area separated from commercial traffic, and the Seminole County Landfill at 1930 Osceola Road in Geneva opens daily from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and accepts cash and credit cards, with the note that card connectivity at the landfill may occasionally be limited. The county pages read here print no disposal rate, so the price of a self hauled load is confirmed at the gate.

Taking it somewhere yourself?

Self hauling from Sanford means the county. The Seminole County Central Transfer Station at 1950 State Road 419 in Longwood opens Monday through Saturday from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and keeps a citizen drop off area separate from commercial traffic, and the Seminole County Landfill at 1930 Osceola Road in Geneva opens daily from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and takes cash and cards, although card connectivity at the landfill is occasionally limited. Neither county page read here prints a tipping rate, so the price comes from the gate. Hazardous material does not go over the scale: the Household Hazardous Waste Tunnel inside the transfer station takes household chemicals, electronics, tires, automotive fluids, batteries and propane, with sharps in a properly contained sealed container, free to any Seminole County resident including residents of the incorporated cities, Monday through Saturday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., and the ReUse Shop beside it is open the same days from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Inside the city the bulky route is the annual free Community Clean-Up Day, with piles limited to twenty cubic yards, two person manageable, no item over fifty pounds and nothing longer than five feet or thicker than five inches, and appliances and tires arranged separately at 407-688-5089. Before you book

A few things
worth knowing.

Appliance removal, from choosing your item to pickup day in Sanford.

How much does appliance removal cost in Sanford?

A full-size household refrigerator is $109 as a single item. A washing machine is $109, and a dryer is $109. Other appliances have their own catalog prices. Choose each item to see your exact total before booking; disposal and recycling costs are included in the item price.

Can I get same-day appliance pickup in Sanford?

Book by 2pm at your pickup address for same-day pickup, where available. Checkout shows the dates you can choose. Your pickup is scheduled for a day rather than an exact arrival appointment, and we text you before arrival. Have the appliance disconnected and ready outside by your pickup readiness time.

Can you take a washing machine and dryer in one pickup?

Yes. Add one Washing machine and one Dryer so both units are included in the price. They are separate items, even when you bought them as a set. If yours is a single combined unit or the machines still need to be unstacked, contact us before booking to confirm the scope.

Will you disconnect my appliance or carry it out?

Dropcurb picks up appliances that are already disconnected and accessible outside at ground level. Arrange uninstallation, utility disconnection and indoor carrying before pickup. Use a qualified professional for gas, hardwired or plumbing connections when needed. We handle loading and haul-away from the outdoor pickup spot.

Can I book if the delivery company did not take my old appliance?

Yes. Dropcurb pickup is separate from buying or installing a replacement, so you can book removal on its own. Select the old appliance, choose a pickup day and arrange for it to be disconnected and accessible outside. If your new delivery is still ahead, confirm the retailer’s haul-away arrangements before booking a separate pickup.

How do I get rid of an appliance in Sanford?

Call 407-688-5089. The city's cleanup notice lists appliances and tires separately from the curbside pile, with a maximum of eight tires and the same number for any questions about the cleanup, so the appliance is arranged on that line rather than put out with the bulk material. The city publishes no fee for the removal, so confirm the terms when you call, and keep the unit out of the garbage and recycling carts in the meantime.Official guidance

Who collects trash in Sanford?

The city collects through a contract with Waste Pro of Florida that covers garbage, recycling, yard waste and bulk material, and the Public Works and Utilities department runs the free Community Clean-Up Day each spring. City Hall answers at 407-688-5000, the cleanup and appliance questions go to 407-688-5089, and household hazardous waste, electronics, tires and sharps go to the Seminole County facility at 1950 State Road 419 in Longwood, with the county reachable at 407-665-2260.Official guidance

What are the limits on the Sanford cleanup pile?

The pile cannot exceed twenty cubic yards, it has to be manageable by two people, no single item may weigh more than fifty pounds, and nothing may be longer than five feet or thicker than five inches. Construction debris, hazardous waste and yard waste larger than those limits are not accepted, and appliances and tires are excluded from the pile and arranged at 407-688-5089 with a maximum of eight tires.Official guidance
