From $24 for minimum charge for a bulk or special pickup of separated material up to two cubic yards, measured as three feet by three feet by six feet, which the city describes as about the size of a washer and dryer side by side, covering yard waste, white goods and other household items, with each additional cubic yard at $12 up to twelve cubic yards. A special pickup over twelve cubic yards carries a $150 trip fee plus tonnage at $87.64 per ton, and items placed at the curb outside the cart carry an additional charge.

Keep the pile to the published volume so the charge stays at the base rate, separate yard waste from white goods and household furniture, and keep household hazardous waste, electronics for a recycling cart, and anything that fits in the regular cart out of a bulk pile.
The Transfer Station accepts mattresses with a limit of eight per customer, and a mattress also qualifies as a large item for the weekly bulk pickup.

Get it ready
Keep the mattress dry and wrapped so it stays intact, keep it out of the recycling cart, and keep the load within the eight piece per customer limit at the Transfer Station. Count a box spring separately if both pieces go out in the same load.
