Choose the right items

One computer setup can be several items.

A separate monitor and tower count separately. Small devices and cables have their own box option. Choose what is actually leaving so your price matches the pickup.

Monitor, desktop or laptop.

Choose Computer monitor for each separate display. Desktop computer covers one tower or one all-in-one computer. A laptop is its own item. Add only the devices going.

Printer or office copier.

A printer with a built-in scanner belongs under Printer. A floor-standing copy machine belongs under Office copier. The shape matters more than the brand.

A box of smaller electronics.

Use Box of electronics for small devices, cables and chargers together in one box. For a large or heavy box, unusual contents or separate batteries, send a photo and confirm the fit before booking.

Special rules apply

Residential electronics are collected by request every Thursday rather than with the bulky pile, and the City publishes no charge for the request.

City cost & eligibility
The City lists residential electronics as a by request service running every Thursday but publishes no rate for it, so confirm whether the request is covered by the monthly charge or billed separately with Waste Management Services on 850-891-4968 before the item goes out.
When & how
By request on the Thursday that the City runs the route, so the pickup is arranged through the service request rather than left for the bulky round.
Get it ready
Keep electronics off the bulky pile and out of the garbage, because the City collects them on their own route by request. Wipe or remove personal data before the device leaves the home, and separate any removable battery so it is not crushed in the truck.

The handoff matters

Right item.
Right place.

Hazardous waste and project debris have their own routes

Hazardous waste is not picked up by the City at the curb and goes to a Cash for Trash event on the third Saturday of April or October, where a residential solid waste customer presents a City utility bill before unloading. Construction and demolition debris is collected by request rather than on the regular round, and electronics have their own by request Thursday route, so none of that material belongs in the garbage barrel or on the bulky pile.

Taking it somewhere yourself?

Tallahassee runs its own collection inside the city limits and the curb is the main route, because garbage and recycling come once a week and bulky items and yard waste come every other week on the Red or Blue week that applies to the address. A bulky item can be up to six feet long by four feet wide by four feet high, which covers a mattress, a couch, an appliance, a disassembled swing set and a grill. What does not fit, or what cannot sit at the curb, goes one of two ways: to a Cash for Trash event on the third Saturday of April or October, where hazardous waste and oversized bulky items are taken and a City utility bill earns a credit, or to a special pickup requested through the City and billed by the quarter hour with per ton disposal fees added. Electronics have their own by request Thursday route, and construction and demolition debris is collected only by request. worth knowing.

Electronics removal, from choosing your item to pickup day in Tallahassee.

How much does electronics pickup cost in Tallahassee?

A computer monitor is $79 as the first item and $19 as an additional item. Choose the actual devices and quantities to see your combined price online. A separate desktop tower and monitor are separate items. Loading, transportation and disposal are included; review the total and any applicable tax before payment.

Can you pick up old electronics today in Tallahassee?

Book by 2pm at your pickup address for same-day pickup. Choose from the dates shown at checkout and have the prepared items outside according to your confirmation. We text you when your hauler is on the way and provide photos when the pickup is done. The booking is for a day, not an exact arrival time.

Does computer removal include my monitor and printer?

Desktop computer covers one tower or one all-in-one computer. Add a separate monitor, printer or laptop as its own item if it is going too. For small devices, cables and chargers together, choose Box of electronics and check the description before booking.

Do you erase data from old computers?

Data erasure and certified data destruction are not included in Dropcurb removal. Back up the information you need, then follow the manufacturer’s sign-out and reset instructions before pickup. If a device cannot be erased or contains sensitive business information, arrange suitable data handling before giving it away. Completion photos confirm the pickup, not data destruction.Official guidance

Can I book one box of old cables and small electronics?

Yes. Box of electronics is an existing option for small devices, cables and chargers together in one box. A monitor, desktop computer and printer each have their own item option. Send a photo before booking for a large or heavy box, unusual contents or separate batteries so we can confirm the fit.

How are electronics collected in the city?

By request, on the Thursday route the City runs for residential electronics, which is separate from the every other week bulky pickup. The request goes through the City service request process, and customers can call 850-891-4968 with a question about the pickup.Official guidance

Who collects the waste in Tallahassee?

The City of Tallahassee Waste Management Services, which the City states is the exclusive provider of waste collection inside the city limits, with recycling and construction and demolition debris excluded from that exclusivity. Waste Management Services covers garbage, bulky items, yard waste and recycling for residential and commercial customers, and the service line is 850-891-4968.Official guidance

How do I find my pickup day?

The City publishes an address lookup for the pickup schedule, and the Red or Blue week calendar shows which week the address sits in along with the specific day inside it. The printed customer service guide that arrives by the start of the year carries the same information, and a holiday may push a pickup one day later.Official guidance

How do holidays affect pickup?

A customer may receive service one day later than the regular schedule when the pickup day falls on or after a holiday observed by the City of Tallahassee. The City publishes the holiday pickup schedules alongside the address lookup.Official guidance

How much is an extra garbage container?

The City publishes a monthly charge for an additional garbage container on top of the regular residential rate, a higher monthly charge for premium residential service, and the regular monthly charge for a home. The amounts sit on the service page rate table, and apartment service carries the regular monthly charge with bulky item service included.Official guidance

Does apartment service include bulky items?

Yes. The City charges apartments the regular monthly rate and that rate includes bulky item service. If the apartment complex management does not include the charge in the rental agreement, the City bills the customer directly, and the same bulky item size and set out rules apply.Official guidance
