Room for what comes next

Your space can have a new purpose.

A home office. Room for a guest. A little more floor to enjoy. When an old machine is in the way, a clear pickup plan makes the next step easier.

The room is changing.

Book the equipment you are ready to let go of, whether it is one exercise bike or several machines. See the total before making the plan.

A replacement is coming.

Check whether your retailer includes removal. If the old treadmill is still your responsibility, give it a pickup day of its own.

It is not making the move.

Settle the price online, arrange to have it outside, and follow the pickup through text updates and completion photos. One less thing to coordinate before the keys change hands.

Match the machine

The right choice covers the right equipment.

Choose by the type of equipment. A brand name does not mean a different item, but a walking pad and a full treadmill do.

Treadmill, walking pad or commercial model?

Household treadmill includes folding home models with a tall console. Choose Walking pad for a compact under-desk model, or Commercial treadmill for a large gym machine. All equipment opens those choices.

An exercise bike, elliptical or rower

Spin, upright, recumbent and air bikes all use Exercise bike, including Peloton and other brands. One elliptical includes its connected base, handles and pedals. Rowing machines and Pilates reformers have their own choices.

Weights, racks and benches

Add together the pounds of loose dumbbells, kettlebells, plates and barbells. Free weights are priced in 10 lb units, rounding the combined weight up. For example, 25 lb uses three units. Add a stand, rack or bench separately if it is going too.

Ready for pickup

Plan the move outside before pickup day.

A machine can be too heavy or awkward for a solo move. Arrange suitable help for indoor carrying, stairs or any dismantling needed to reach the outdoor pickup spot.

A pickup day is not an exact arrival window. Tell us before booking about a shared loading area, restricted outdoor access or equipment whose size or setup you are unsure how to select.

Your place. One easy pickup plan.

  2. Book a day you can be ready.

Accepted with preparation

Exercise equipment is named directly in the district's scheduled bulk list, so a treadmill or weight machine follows the same five item pickup route as furniture and appliances.

City cost & eligibility
$10 for added to the One-Bill for each bulk pickup requested in Districts 1 through 11, with no additional fee in Districts 12 through 15. Villages residents scheduling with the district number for the address and staying inside the five item limit.
When & how
Call the district phone number for the address, then set the machine out on the assigned pickup day.

Right place.

Bulk pickups are scheduled by district and capped at five items

Bulk pickup is scheduled by phone for the district the address sits in, and the limit is strictly five items per pickup, with a sixth item requiring its own pickup and fee. Districts 1 through 11 add ten dollars to the monthly One-Bill each time a pickup is requested and schedule at 352-748-0109, while Districts 12 through 15 are not charged an additional fee and schedule at 352-750-0000. The District may add charges for loads that exceed policy limits, need special handling or came from contractor work.

Taking it somewhere yourself?

The Villages has two entirely different routes. Inside the districts, almost everything large is scheduled: five items per pickup, ten dollars on the One-Bill in Districts 1 through 11 at 352-748-0109 and no additional fee in Districts 12 through 15 at 352-750-0000, covering furniture, mattresses and box springs, appliances, flat-screen televisions, computers and monitors, exercise equipment, grills, lawn mowers and minor homeowner remodeling debris. Yard waste rides the regular sanitation service instead, with limbs under five feet and five inches in diameter, bundles under 40 pounds, and a seven bundle or bag limit per collection day. Outside the district routes, Sumter County runs a Citizen's Drop-Off Area at 819 CR 529 in Lake Panasoffkee for brush, construction and demolition debris, electronics, furniture, tires, batteries and scrap metal on its own fee schedule, and the county's two Amnesty Day mobile collections take paints, solvents, pesticides, pool chemicals, automotive fluids, batteries, fluorescent lamps, mercury devices and household electronics free on August 15 and November 7, 2026. Contractor-generated material is refused in both directions, whether it is construction debris or lawn clippings.
