Winter Park's franchise hauler collects bulk items such as appliances and furniture free of charge twice a year, in the months of May and November, for curbside residential customers, and the city asks residents to put eligible items out after 5 p.m. on the evening before their second regularly scheduled household pickup day. The pile has to sit clear of sidewalks and roadways, and household hazardous waste and yard waste are not part of the collection at all. Additional bulk pickups can be ordered for an additional charge, and residents in apartments, townhomes or condos without curbside service arrange their own large item pickup with the hauler.
