Household items from your own address. A refrigerant appliance has to be certified as degassed and tagged by a certified technician before collection, and construction debris, tires and the other items on the do-not-collect list are not accepted.
The drop-off for the things Acworth curbside crews will not take is the Cobb County transfer station at 1897 County Services Parkway in Marietta, where household waste, construction and demolition debris, electronics, mattresses, tires and refrigerant appliances are all accepted at the scale house. Bring a valid Georgia driver's license, because that is the only proof of Cobb County residence the station accepts, and expect extra handling charges on top of the weight charge for electronics, tires, propane tanks, paint and refrigerated units. Household solid waste and construction and demolition debris, aluminum scrap, antifreeze, carpet padding, used motor oil, electronics, refrigerators and other appliances that contain refrigerant, tires, mattresses and propane tanks. The electronics recycling area takes computers, monitors, printers, scanners, laptops, cell phones, stereos, cables and similar equipment when you tell the scale operator you are bringing electronics.
Cobb County residents only, and a valid Georgia driver's license is the only proof of residence accepted. Televisions are not part of the electronics recycling drop and are charged as regular household waste. Electronics, tires, propane tanks, paint cans and refrigerated appliances carry extra handling charges, and yard debris goes to the separate vegetative waste site on the same parkway.
Monday through Friday 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday 7 a.m. to 4 p.m., closed Sunday and county holidays.
From $14 for minimum charge for the first 400 pounds of household waste or construction and demolition debris from a Cobb County resident.
