Match your item

Construction cleanup starts with the right items.

We currently accept the doors, toilets and bathroom vanities listed here, already detached and ready outside. Choose each item separately. Mixed drywall, tile, concrete, lumber and demolition rubble are not accepted, including in bags.

Doors

Count each detached door panel separately. Have it removed from its hinges before pickup. A whole installed doorway or garage door is not the same item.

Toilets

Choose Toilet for an ordinary household toilet that has already been disconnected, drained and moved outside. Text a photo before booking if yours is broken or has loose sharp pieces.

Bathroom vanities

Choose the small, standard or large bathroom vanity that matches your sink cabinet. A makeup table has a separate choice. Plumbing disconnection and removal from the wall happen before pickup.

  1. Arrange the removal work

Have the fixture safely detached and any plumbing or electrical connections handled by an appropriate professional. We do not remove installed fixtures or perform demolition.

  2. Keep the booked items separate

Have the fixtures empty and ready at ground level. Keep them apart from rubble, loose renovation materials, tools and anything you want to keep.

  3. Show the outdoor handoff

Use a permitted outdoor spot with a clear path. Add a location photo and notes on your order page so the right entrance and the right items are easy to identify.

Construction and demolition material

Not on the regular city route

Construction and demolition debris is refused in the roll carts and the bulky pile, and the ACC Landfill refuses it too, so residents self-haul it to the Oglethorpe County C&D Landfill.

City cost & eligibility
Construction and demolition debris is refused in the roll carts and the bulky program, the ACC Landfill does not accept it, and no curbside construction route exists, so a small household project load goes to the Oglethorpe County C&D Landfill for residents with proof of address, or to a private hauler.
When & how
Take small household project or remodeling material to the Oglethorpe County C&D Landfill at 882 Athens Road in Crawford, where Athens-Clarke County residents must show proof of address.
Get it ready
Keep pallets, renovation debris and demolition material out of the roll carts and the bulky pile, and keep paint and household chemicals on the CHaRM route instead because CHaRM does not accept gasoline or fuels and the C&D landfill is for construction material.

The handoff matters

Right item.
Right place.

Yard waste, liquids, hazardous waste and construction debris stay out of both bins

No yard waste, liquid waste, hazardous waste or construction debris goes in either roll cart, and large items such as furniture, carpets, sinks, appliances and renovation debris are not part of standard garbage collection or overflow stickers and need their own pickup. Overflow outside the cart needs a prepaid sticker, and leaf and limb collection is a separate residential route with paper bags and one load per rotation.

A household or business with more items than the bulky program covers or commercial material that needs its own collection.

Cost & conditions

Arrange it
Call the ACC Solid Waste Department at (706) 613-3501 option 7 or email collections@accgov.com to arrange the pickup and get the cost.

Extra or ineligible items still have to follow the accepted list, and construction and demolition debris, hazardous materials, liquids, tires and automotive components remain refused.

Taking it somewhere yourself?

Athens-Clarke County collects trash and recycling curbside in roll carts, with the blue cart for bagged trash and the green cart for loose recycling, and bulky waste is a separate by-request program that takes furniture, mattresses and box springs, appliances, large electronics and exercise equipment up to five items per pickup with four free pickups a year. Hard-to-recycle and hazardous material does not go in either cart: paint, household chemicals and cleaners, batteries, tires, propane tanks, fluorescent tubes, televisions, monitors, cords and small electronics go to CHaRM at 1005 College Ave, which is open to anyone and charges a per-trip facility fee plus item fees. The ACC Landfill at 5700 Lexington Rd takes municipal solid waste from Athens-Clarke and Oglethorpe counties only and refuses construction and demolition material, and leaf and limb yard waste stays on its own residential route with paper bags by 8:00 A.M. on the Monday of the collection week. Before you book

A few things
worth knowing.

Construction debris removal, from choosing your item to pickup day in Athens.

How much does construction debris removal cost in Athens?

Pricing is per accepted item. A detached door is $99 as a single item, an ordinary toilet is $79, and a small bathroom vanity is $99. Larger vanities have their own choices. Select the listed items to see the exact combined price. These prices do not cover mixed rubble or loose building materials. Loading, transportation and disposal are included; applicable sales tax appears before payment.

Can I get same-day toilet or vanity pickup in Athens?

Book by 2pm at your pickup address for same-day pickup, where available. Checkout shows the dates you can choose. Arrange disconnection, removal and the move outside first, then have the fixture ready by the time in your confirmation. We text you before arrival and provide pickup photos when it is done.

Will you disconnect a sink or take a door off its hinges?

The fixture must already be detached, disconnected and accessible outside at ground level. Arrange plumbing, electrical work, removal from walls or hinges, and indoor carrying before pickup. Dropcurb handles loading and haul-away from your outdoor pickup spot.

Can I add bags of drywall, tile or other demolition waste?

Mixed drywall, tile, concrete, lumber and demolition rubble are not accepted. This page offers pickup for the listed doors, toilets and bathroom vanities that are already removed. Do not book loose building materials as household trash bags or as an extra item. Arrange suitable disposal for those materials with your contractor or a debris specialist.

Can a door, toilet and vanity go in the same pickup?

Yes. Add each listed fixture separately and choose the correct vanity size. Each detached door panel counts as one item. The combined price appears before you book. Keep the fixtures together outside, separate from anything staying, and add a location photo on your order page.

Can Athens-Clarke County take construction debris at the curb?

No. Construction and demolition debris, including pallets, is refused in the roll carts and the bulky waste program, and the ACC Landfill does not accept construction and demolition material. Athens-Clarke County residents can take small household project or remodeling material to the Oglethorpe County C&D Landfill at 882 Athens Road in Crawford with proof of address, or hire a private hauler.Official guidance
