The local disposal guide
Duluth contracts Republic Services for household trash and recycling, and the city also runs a card-controlled dumpster site at the Public Works complex on Main Street where residents bring bulky items that will not fit the bins and yard debris at no charge. Bulky items such as mattresses, sofas, furniture and appliances can also leave the curb on a paid Republic request, priced as a flat charge per request with a two item limit per service week, and the city names the Richland Creek Landfill for material that neither the curb nor the dumpster site will take.
