Appliances are on the city accepted bulk list, but the city attaches a condition: the unit has to be tagged to show that refrigerants have been removed.
City cost & eligibility
No charge. Included in the annual residential sanitation service, within the weekly bulk allowance, subject to the published condition that an appliance carrying refrigerant arrives tagged to show the refrigerant has been removed.
When & how
Request the bulk pickup within 24 hours of the trash service day and no later than 3 p.m., then set the appliance out on the scheduled collection day after the tagging condition is met.

Yes. Dropcurb pickup is separate from buying or installing a replacement, so you can book removal on its own. If your new delivery is still ahead, confirm the retailer’s haul-away arrangements before booking a separate pickup.
