Appliances are part of the large item programme, but the city states that it will no longer pick up refrigerators, freezers or air conditioning units, so a cooling appliance has no city collection at all.

$30 per large item collected through the city work order programme, for the appliances the city still accepts. Smyrna residential sanitation customers for accepted appliances only; a refrigerator, freezer or air conditioning unit is refused by name and has to be handled some other way.
When & how

The two city pages print different weekly deadlines, Wednesday at 3:30 p.m. on the sanitation page and Monday at 4:30 p.m. on the yard waste and large item page, so confirm which applies when the request is placed. No large items are collected during a holiday week.
What the carts take, and what the city refuses outright
Only city-provided carts are collected, all garbage has to be bagged with no loose debris inside, and only general household waste belongs there.
