  1. Check what your delivery includes.

If a new mattress is arriving, check whether your retailer is taking the old one. If you need Dropcurb, choose a day when you can have it outside. A delivery window and a pickup day are different arrangements.

  2. Arrange the trip outside.

Plan for doorways, elevators and interior stairs before pickup day. You arrange any indoor carrying. Use a permitted outdoor location and keep entrances and the walking path open.

  3. Make the right mattress easy to find.

Follow the readiness instructions in your confirmation. Add a location photo and clear access notes so your hauler can identify exactly what is going.

Mattresses and box springs

Special rules apply

Neither the city nor the county page names a mattress, so a mattress has to be confirmed with the hauler rather than added to a bulk pile on an assumption.

City cost & eligibility
No published page names a mattress or a mattress rate, so confirm with Waste Management at (404) 794-6707 whether a mattress is taken on a bulk appointment and what it costs, or with Gwinnett County at 770.822.7141 if the address is county served.
When & how
Call the hauler before the mattress is set out, and keep it out of the yard debris pile, which accepts leaves, clippings and limbs only.
Get it ready
Do not put the mattress out on a collection day without confirming that the bulk appointment covers it.

The handoff matters

Right item.
Right place.

The city collects yard debris, with strict limits

The City of Sugar Hill collects yard debris inside the incorporated city limits. Limbs and brush go out stacked neatly at the curb or the edge of pavement by 7 a.m. Monday, one pile per household, no larger than six feet long, four feet high and four feet wide, with limbs no more than four inches in diameter and nothing cut by a tree service or landscape company. Bags of leaves and clippings are collected weekly the day before the regular trash day, in paper lawn bags or trash bags, at no more than fifty pounds each. No trash, rocks, dirt or stumps go in either pile.

Bulk is a phone call, not a bag

Sugar Hill ended bag service in November 2022, and with it the bag that used to identify and pay for bulk collection. Bulk waste is now handled by call-in appointments and direct payment to Waste Management, so nothing large should go to the curb before the appointment is confirmed and paid. For a county served address, Gwinnett County Solid Waste Management runs a bulk pickup limited to two items or white goods per week and answers at 770.822.7141 on weekdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

City of Sugar Hill Public Works with Waste Management and Gwinnett County Solid Waste Management

Waste Management bulk appointment

A Sugar Hill household with a large item such as furniture or an appliance that the cart cannot take.

Cost & conditions
The city publishes no bulk rate because the collection is paid directly to the hauler, so the price is quoted when the appointment is booked at (404) 794-6707.
Arrange it
Call Waste Management at (404) 794-6707 to book the bulk collection, pay the hauler directly for it, and put the item out only once the appointment is confirmed.

The city publishes no list of accepted bulk items, so confirm the item before set-out, and keep yard debris separate because the city collects it under its own rules and limits.

Check local arrangements

Taking it somewhere yourself?

Sugar Hill publishes no self-haul facility for its residents: the city pages name only the curbside hauler and the city yard debris collection, and Gwinnett County's page names its offices, its hauler list and its hard-to-recycle events without a transfer station, landfill or drop-off address for city residents. What a household can actually do is call Waste Management at (404) 794-6707 to arrange and pay for a bulk collection, call Gwinnett County Solid Waste Management at 770.822.7141 about the county bulk pickup limited to two items per week or about the next hard-to-recycle event, and use the city yard debris collection for limbs, brush, leaves and clippings within the published pile and bag limits. Any other route, including a construction load or a mattress, has to come from the hauler or the county. Before you book

A few things
worth knowing.

Mattress removal, from choosing your item to pickup day in Sugar Hill.

How much does mattress removal cost in Sugar Hill?

The price depends on the mattress size you choose. A queen mattress is $99 as the first item and $30 as an additional item. Loading, transportation and disposal are included. Add any box spring or frame separately, then review your total and any applicable tax before payment.

Can I book same-day mattress pickup in Sugar Hill?

Book by 2pm at your pickup address for same-day pickup. Choose from the dates shown at checkout. Have the mattress outside and accessible according to your confirmation. Your booking is for a day rather than an exact arrival time, and we text you when your hauler is on the way.

Is my box spring or bed frame included in mattress removal?

The mattress price covers the mattress only. Add your box spring, bed frame or adjustable base separately if those are going too. Choose the size and type that match each item. The combined price appears before booking.

Will you carry my mattress downstairs or out of my apartment?

Dropcurb starts outside. You arrange to move the mattress out of your apartment and down interior stairs before pickup. We load it and take it away from an accessible outdoor spot. Check your building’s access rules before arranging the move outside.

Can you pick up my old mattress when my new one arrives?

You can choose an offered pickup day around your replacement delivery. First check whether the retailer already includes old-mattress removal, and arrange who will bring it outside if needed. Dropcurb books a pickup day, not the retailer’s delivery window. Contact us before booking if access is limited to a short time.

Where can I take a mattress in Sugar Hill?

No city or county page names a mattress drop-off or a mattress rate, so the route has to come from the hauler. Call Waste Management at (404) 794-6707 and ask whether a mattress is taken on a bulk appointment and what it costs, and keep it out of the yard debris pile, which is limited to leaves, clippings and limbs inside the city limits.Official guidance

Who collects trash in Sugar Hill?

Waste Management collects curbside trash and recycling under the city programme and answers at (404) 794-6707 for service, billing and scheduling questions, while the City of Sugar Hill collects yard debris inside the incorporated city limits. The city itself is at 5039 West Broad Street and answers at (770) 945-6716 on weekdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Gwinnett County Solid Waste Management runs the countywide bulk pickup and hard-to-recycle events.Official guidance

How do I put out leaves and limbs in Sugar Hill?

The city collects yard debris inside the city limits. Limbs go out by 7 a.m. Monday, neatly stacked at the curb or the edge of pavement, one pile per household, no larger than six feet long, four feet high and four feet wide, with limbs no more than four inches in diameter, and nothing from a tree service or landscape company. Bags of leaves and clippings are collected weekly the day before the regular trash day in paper or trash bags of no more than fifty pounds. No trash, rocks, dirt or stumps go in either.Official guidance

Is there a dump or drop-off site for Sugar Hill residents?

No city or county page publishes a transfer station, landfill or drop-off site for Sugar Hill residents. The published routes are the curbside hauler for trash, recycling and bulk appointments, the city yard debris collection, and Gwinnett County's bulk pickup and hard-to-recycle events, which are arranged through the county solid waste office at 770.822.7141 on weekdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.Official guidance
