City cost & eligibility
The City publishes no bulky item rate because it collects no trash, and its directory sends a piece that is not reusable to the garbage hauler for disposal options. Confirm the item, the pickup and the amount with the licensed hauler on the account.
When & how
Arrange the pickup with the hauler rather than setting the piece at the curb on the assumption it will go with household trash, since the City collection is not the operator.
Get it ready
Offer usable furniture for reuse first, because the City lists Immigrant Services of Champaign Urbana, Goodwill and Habitat for Humanity ReStore as donation routes, with Immigrant Services able to pick up items. Keep a piece that is not reusable off the sidewalk and confirm with the hauler where it should go.
Champaign's curbside service belongs to licensed private haulers, and the City states that it collects neither trash nor recycling. Anything that will not fit the cart, including furniture, a mattress, an appliance or an exercise machine, is arranged with the hauler on the account rather than reported to the City.
The City's directory leads with donation for anything still in working order. Furniture and reusable household items go to Immigrant Services of Champaign Urbana, Goodwill or Habitat for Humanity ReStore, mattresses and box springs in good condition can be picked up by Immigrant Services or Empty Tomb, and working appliances go to Immigrant Services or ReStore.

Will you carry my couch out of my apartment?+
Dropcurb starts outside. Arrange for the sofa to be moved through the apartment and down interior stairs before pickup. We load and haul it away from an accessible outdoor spot. Arrange any dismantling needed to get it outside beforehand.
Do I need to wait at home for couch pickup?+
You do not need to be home when your booked sofa is outside and accessible. Add photos and pickup-location notes to your order so the right pieces are easy to identify. We send updates and completion photos. Confirm any building access restrictions with us before booking.

Neither has a standing city drop off. Tires depend on occasional county collection events or a tire retailer, and some businesses will only take them when new tires are bought there.
