That pickup is scheduled with Groot and billed by the cubic yard. A small piece that fits the bag rules can still go out beside the toter with the regular collection.

The village publishes no rate for an oversized pickup because Groot gives an estimate and bills by the cubic yard, so confirm the piece and the price with Groot at 847-734-6400 before setting it out. A piece small enough to fit the bag and weight limits goes out at no extra charge beside the toter.
When & how
Call Groot at 847-734-6400 to book the oversized pickup, and hold the piece until the pickup is arranged. For a small piece on the regular route, have it at the curb by 7 a.m. on the collection day, which is Monday for residences north of the Jane Addams Memorial Tollway and Wednesday for residences south of it.
Get it ready
Keep the piece off the curb until the oversized pickup is scheduled, and never set it out before 6 p.m. the night before collection. If the piece goes out with the regular service, keep it within the bag limits of 32 gallons and 50 pounds, keep the toter lid shut, and bag anything loose so it cannot blow away.
Monday north of the tollway, Wednesday south of it
The village splits collection by the Jane Addams Memorial Tollway. Residences north of it are serviced on Mondays, and residences south of it, including those west of Bartlett Road, are serviced on Wednesdays. Because routes can vary weekly and holidays shift the schedule, the village publishes the service area map and delays collection by one day for the remainder of a holiday week.
Schedule the special pickups with Groot before the item goes out
Three special services have to be arranged in advance. Appliance or white goods pickup is scheduled with Groot and runs on Wednesdays at no additional charge. An oversized pickup for a large item or a load over one cubic yard is scheduled with Groot for an estimate and billed by the cubic yard. Electronics pickups are scheduled at least 24 hours ahead, and Groot takes two items a week at no cost. Nothing is left at the curb before the pickup is arranged.

A tube television weighing more than 50 pounds carries a charge on the electronics pickup rather than the two free item allowance.
