A new use for the same space, once the old machine is outside and gone.

Room for what comes next

Your space can have a new purpose.

A home office. Room for a guest. A little more floor to enjoy. When an old machine is in the way, a clear pickup plan makes the next step easier.

The room is changing.

Book the equipment you are ready to let go of, whether it is one exercise bike or several machines. See the total before making the plan.

A replacement is coming.

Check whether your retailer includes removal. If the old treadmill is still your responsibility, give it a pickup day of its own.

It is not making the move.

Settle the price online, arrange to have it outside, and follow the pickup through text updates and completion photos. One less thing to coordinate before the keys change hands.

Match the machine

The right choice covers the right equipment.

Choose by the type of equipment. A brand name does not mean a different item, but a walking pad and a full treadmill do.

Treadmill, walking pad or commercial model?

Household treadmill includes folding home models with a tall console. Choose Walking pad for a compact under-desk model, or Commercial treadmill for a large gym machine. All equipment opens those choices.

An exercise bike, elliptical or rower

Spin, upright, recumbent and air bikes all use Exercise bike, including Peloton and other brands. One elliptical includes its connected base, handles and pedals. Rowing machines and Pilates reformers have their own choices.

Weights, racks and benches

Add together the pounds of loose dumbbells, kettlebells, plates and barbells. Free weights are priced in 10 lb units, rounding the combined weight up. For example, 25 lb uses three units. Add a stand, rack or bench separately if it is going too.

Ready for pickup

Plan the move outside before pickup day.

A machine can be too heavy or awkward for a solo move. Arrange suitable help for indoor carrying, stairs or any dismantling needed to reach the outdoor pickup spot.

A pickup day is not an exact arrival window. Tell us before booking about a shared loading area, restricted outdoor access or equipment whose size or setup you are unsure how to select.

Exercise equipment

Special rules apply

Exercise equipment is not named in the published heavy pickup list, so a treadmill or weight machine is a question for Best Way. The programme is built for items too large to fit in a residential cart, which describes most machines, but the city names furniture and appliances as the common acceptable items.

City cost & eligibility
No exercise machine rate is published. Confirm the machine and any charge with Best Way at 765-649-7272 before it goes out, and note that the city caps heavy pickup at as many as five items a week.
When & how
If Best Way confirms the machine, the pickup runs on the day after the scheduled trash day, with the ordinary trash still going out in its cart on the usual day.
Get it ready
Strip the machine down as far as it will come apart, take the console off the frame, and remove or tape any battery pack. Keep it out of both carts and clear of the cart path so the truck can reach the cart.
City waste services page with the weekly Best Way trash collection and its contact number, the night before set out advice, the Christmas and New Year holiday exception with the Saturday catch up, the cart placement rules of four feet from the curb, three feet of separation and three feet from obstacles, the excess trash arrangement through Best Way, the heavy pickup for items too large for a cart on the day after trash day, the furniture and appliance list with the Freon exclusion, the refusal of remodeling debris and move-in or move-out trash from heavy pickup, the yard waste window from October 1 through December 15 with paper bags and the three inch, four foot and 35 pound bundle limits, the co-mingle every other week recycling list, and both drop-off contacts with their addresses and hoursCity FAQ stating that Anderson does not pick up trash or large items, that the annual City Wide Cleanup usually in the spring takes large items including electronics, tires, washers, dryers, refrigerators and freezers, that Best Way will take as many as five items a week except refrigerators, freezers, electronics and tires when the pickup is scheduled for the day after the trash day, and that recyclables go to the Madison County Recycling Center at Scatterfield Road and Mounds Road on the southeast corner

The handoff matters

Right item.
Right place.

Place the cart four feet from the curb, three feet from everything else

The city asks for the cart within four feet of the curb with the wheels away from the street and the arrows on the lid pointing toward the street. The cart also needs three feet of separation from the heavy pickup pile and three feet of clearance from obstacles such as cars, mailboxes and trees, and it is the resident's job to keep it unblocked. Residents are encouraged to set material out the night before, because drivers start early to clear busy streets before the work day traffic begins.

The cart goes out one morning and heavy pickup the next

Anderson runs heavy pickup on the day after the regular trash day, so a household clearing a couch or an appliance sets material out on two consecutive mornings. The household trash goes in its cart on the usual day, and the heavy items go out beside it the following morning. The city caps heavy pickup at as many as five items a week and states that trash outside the carts is not collected unless it is heavy pickup material.

City of Anderson with Best Way Disposal, and the Madison County Recycling Center

Schedule heavy pickup with Best Way Disposal

A household with a couch, a table, a mattress, a washer or dryer, a stove or an exercise machine that will not fit in the cart.

Cost & conditions
The city publishes no heavy pickup rate and no weekly service rate on the pages read, so confirm the items and any charge with Best Way Disposal at 765-649-7272. The scheduled pickup itself runs on the day after the regular trash day.
Arrange it
Call Best Way Disposal at 765-649-7272 to book the pickup, put the everyday trash in its cart on the usual day, and put the heavy items out the following morning, which is the day after the trash day. The city caps the pickup at as many as five items a week.

Refrigerators, freezers, air conditioners and anything that ever contained refrigerant are excluded, and the city FAQ also excludes electronics and tires from the weekly five item pickup. Remodeling debris, move-in and move-out piles and excess trash outside the carts are outside the programme and need a separate arrangement with Best Way.

Taking it somewhere yourself?

Self haul in Anderson has two published destinations. The Madison County Recycling Center at Scatterfield Road and Mounds Road on the southeast corner takes clean and empty metal cans, newspaper, magazines, books, office paper, junk mail, paper food containers, paper ads, clear, brown and green glass, plastics numbered 1 through 7 without plastic bags, and flattened corrugated cardboard. It is also the local route for refrigerant appliances, limited to unusable air conditioners, freezers, refrigerators and dehumidifiers, and for tires in three size classes, with tires on rims charged double and large loads asked to call ahead. It opens on Tuesdays from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Wednesdays from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Thursdays from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and on the second and fourth Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 12 noon, and it reserves the right to refuse any item. The second destination is the city's own Anderson Yard and Garden Recycling Center at 2000 West Eighth Street, which the Water Pollution Control Utility operates to turn brush, leaves and grass into compost and mulch. It is open on Wednesdays and Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. and from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m., takes leaves and grass at no charge with a nominal fee for woody debris, does not require tree limbs to be bundled, and refuses dirt, plastic bags, treated timbers, stumps, rocks, painted wood and trash. Electronics are the gap: the city routes them to the annual City Wide Cleanup drop-off rather than to either site, and the weekly heavy pickup excludes them. Before you book

A few things
worth knowing.

Exercise equipment removal, from choosing your item to pickup day in Anderson.

How much does exercise equipment removal cost in Anderson?

A household treadmill is $159 as the first item and $85 additional. An elliptical is $159 first and $85 additional; an exercise bike is $119 first and $40 additional. Choose all your items to see the combined price. Loading, transportation and disposal are included, with any applicable sales tax shown before payment.

Can you pick up a treadmill or exercise bike today?

Book by 2pm in the pickup address’s local time for same-day pickup. Available dates appear at checkout. Have the equipment outside and accessible according to your confirmation. You receive pickup updates and completion photos; we book a day rather than an exact appointment time.

Will you dismantle my treadmill or carry it out of the basement?

Dropcurb pickup starts outside. Arrange indoor carrying, stairs and any dismantling needed to get your equipment out before pickup. Check the moving instructions for your exact model and arrange suitable help. We load and haul away the equipment from an accessible outdoor spot.

Which option covers a Peloton, spin bike or recumbent bike?

Choose Exercise bike for one stationary bike, including spin, upright, recumbent and air bikes. Peloton and other brands use the same stationary-bike choice. A treadmill, walking pad and outdoor bicycle are different items, so select their matching options.

How do I book free weights, a weight rack or a bench?

Enter the combined weight in pounds for your dumbbells, kettlebells, plates and barbells. Booking rounds that total up to the next 10 lb unit: 25 lb uses three units. Stands, racks and benches are separate items and do not include the loose weights. Add each one that is going.

Who collects trash in Anderson?

Best Way Disposal collects under the city programme. The city states that Anderson does not pick up trash or large items itself, and that residents call Best Way at 765-649-7272 to find the collection day, order a container or arrange a heavy pickup. Best Way is at 1128 W. 66th St. in Anderson and opens on weekdays from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. and on Saturdays from 7 a.m. to 12 p.m.Official guidance

How many large items will Best Way take?

As many as five items a week, when the pickup is arranged for the day after the scheduled trash day. The city FAQ sets that limit and names the exclusions: refrigerators, freezers, electronics and tires do not go in the weekly pickup, and the waste services page adds air conditioners and anything that ever contained refrigerant to the appliance exclusion.Official guidance
