A few pieces, one pickup

Your room has changed. The old furniture can go.

The desk you no longer use. The dresser that doesn’t fit the new layout. The chairs left over after a move. Choose the pieces you’re done with and give them a pickup day, without arranging a quote visit.

Different pieces. One clear total.

Add each furniture item and its quantity. See the combined price before you pay, with loading, transportation and disposal included.

Choose each piece

A table and four chairs are five items.

You don’t need to guess how much space your furniture fills in a truck. Match each piece to the catalog, then add its quantity. Your total updates as you go.

Tables and chairs

Choose the table, then add each chair separately. Coffee tables, side tables and dining tables have their own options. A large or substantially heavy table has a different choice.

Dressers and mirrors

Match the dresser’s overall size. Add a separate dresser mirror as its own item if it is leaving too. Empty drawers and keep the belongings you want before moving the dresser outside.

Desks and bookshelves

Choose by construction, not height alone. A basic desk is different from a heavy desk with a substantial body. A tall, lightweight bookcase can still be a standard bookshelf. Empty it first.

  1. Choose what leaves and what stays.

Count the furniture you want removed and empty drawers, shelves and cabinets. Add any other items to the booking instead of leaving an unlisted pile beside the furniture.

  2. Arrange the move outside.

You handle indoor carrying and any disassembly needed to get the furniture through your home. Plan for doorways, interior stairs and building access before pickup day.

  3. Show exactly what goes.

Couches and household furniture

Accepted with preparation

Furniture and lawn furniture are named in the heavy trash list, so a couch, sofa, chair, table or similar piece goes out on the monthly heavy trash day. There is no published per-item charge because heavy trash is part of the monthly residential trash rate.

City cost & eligibility
No charge. Furniture collected as heavy trash is included in the monthly residential trash rate for homes inside the city limits, with no published per-item charge.
When & how
Furniture goes out during the last full week of the month on the household's regular trash day, with the material curbside by 7 a.m.
Get it ready
Set the piece at the curb with the rest of the heavy trash, and keep it clear of the cart and the roadway. Nothing over the household's own items should be mixed in, and the pile must not include dirt, concrete, tires, electronics, chemicals, large metal pieces or construction debris.

City of Greenwood Waste Management Department with Best Way Disposal, and the Indiana E-Cycle collector network

Greenwood heavy trash day

A household with furniture, a mattress, carpet, a non-refrigerant appliance or another large household item that will not fit in the trash cart.

Cost & conditions
No charge. Included in the monthly residential trash rate for homes inside the city limits, together with recycling, leaf and limb pickup. A refrigerant appliance needs a Freon sticker bought from Greenwood Sanitation.
Arrange it
Set the items at the curb on your regular trash day during the last full week of the month, out by 7 a.m., and call Best Way Disposal at 317-484-3365 with questions about an item.

One week a month only, household items from your own address, and electronics, construction material, tires, chemicals, concrete and large metal pieces are excluded. A refrigerator, freezer or air conditioner needs the Freon sticker and a call before pickup.

Greenwood waste management

Taking it somewhere yourself?

Greenwood's curbside service comes from the city through Best Way Disposal, and the city's own drop-off is the waste management facility on West Fry Road, which takes limbs and gives residents free mulch rather than household bulky items. For the material heavy trash will not take, the routes are specific. Electronics cannot go in the trash or the recycling cart because Indiana requires them to be recycled, so they go to a state-registered collector such as the Best Buy on Fry Road, a Greenwood Goodwill or the Johnson County Solid Waste Management District in Franklin. Renovation debris needs a roll-off container or a private haul, which Best Way also offers. Heavy trash itself stays the free route for furniture, mattresses, carpet and non-refrigerant appliances during one week each month, and a refrigerant unit needs a Freon sticker from Greenwood Sanitation plus a call to Best Way. Before you book

A few things
worth knowing.

Furniture removal, from choosing your item to pickup day in Greenwood.

How much does furniture removal cost in Greenwood?

Choose the type and size of each piece to see its price. For example, a medium dresser is $79 as the first item or $29 as an additional item. Your total starts with the highest first-item price in your selection, then uses the additional-item price for every other item. Review the complete total and any applicable tax before payment.

Can I get same-day furniture pickup in Greenwood?

Book by 2pm at your pickup address for same-day pickup and choose from the dates shown at checkout. Arrange to have the furniture outside according to your confirmation. You receive a text when your hauler is on the way and photos after collection.

Will you remove furniture from inside my apartment?

Dropcurb starts outside. You arrange indoor carrying, including any interior stairs or elevator trip. We load and take away the furniture from an accessible outdoor location. Check your building’s rules and plan the route out before booking.

Can you take several different furniture items in one pickup?

Yes. Add each piece and its quantity to one booking. A dining table and four chairs are five items; a separate mirror is not included with a dresser. You can mix eligible items from different rooms and review their combined total before paying.

Do I need to take furniture apart before pickup?

You arrange any disassembly needed to move the furniture out of your home and into an accessible outdoor pickup spot. Dropcurb does not provide indoor disassembly or carrying. If you are unsure which catalog choice matches a dismantled or unusual piece, send a photo and ask before booking.

Will the city take a couch from the curb?

Yes, on heavy trash day. Furniture and lawn furniture are on the heavy trash list, and the route runs during the last full week of the month on your regular trash day at no separate charge. Have it at the curb by 7 a.m. with the rest of the household pile.Official guidance

What is heavy trash in Greenwood?

A monthly curbside collection for the large household items that will not fit in the trash cart, run during the last full week of the month on your regular trash day. Furniture and lawn furniture, mattresses wrapped in plastic, carpet and flooring bundled into four foot by four foot pieces, broken glass and mirrors wrapped in cardboard and taped, non-freon appliances and similar household items are on the list.Official guidance

Does Greenwood charge extra for heavy trash?

No. The city states that the monthly residential trash rate includes heavy trash along with recycling and leaf and limb pickup, and the brochure publishes no per-item charge. The two exceptions are an extra trash bag that will not fit in the cart, which needs a sticker from Greenwood Sanitation, and a refrigerator, freezer or air conditioner, which needs a Freon sticker before Best Way will collect it.Official guidance

When is trash, recycling and heavy trash collected?

Trash is collected every week on your designated day and recycling every other week on that same day, with everything curbside by 7 a.m. Heavy trash runs during the last full week of each month on the same trash day. When a holiday falls on or before the pickup day, both routes move one day later.Official guidance
