When & how

Get it ready
Empty the unit before it goes out and place it with the bulk items at the curb rather than inside a toter, since appliances will not fit and the toters are limited to bagged household waste and small quantities of bagged yard waste. Keep the appliance clear of poles, mailboxes and fences so the collection crew can reach it.
Trash rides the regular truck, bulk items such as furniture and appliances ride a secondary truck on the same day, and tree limbs, brush and leaves ride a separate organic truck so the material can be composted and mulched instead of landfilled. Separating the piles is what lets each collection finish in one pass.
Every district customer may haul and dump up to 2,000 pounds of household trash at East Central Recycling each year at no extra charge, along with six car tires, hazardous household waste and electronic goods. The same site accepts construction materials with a charge, and the district publishes the recycling number for questions about charges or programs.

The curbside services refuse hazardous household waste, needles, construction material, large quantities of animal waste, human waste and dead animals, and contractor tree work is the contractor's responsibility.
