Mattresses are not named on the special load list, in the residential trash rules or on the neighborhood cleanup list, so no city route states plainly that a mattress will be taken. The special load service is still the route to ask about, because it is the city service meant for items the cart will not hold, but the answer has to come from the Sanitation Department.
