Tires

Special rules apply

Tires are banned from the rollout container and are collected at the Spring Clean Up Day, limited to eight per resident.

City cost & eligibility
No charge. Paducah and McCracken County residents at the free Spring Clean Up Day, with a limit of eight tires per resident and no heavy equipment, solid, rubber track or foam filled tires accepted; tires are listed among the contents that interrupt ordinary container service, so there is no published curbside route.
When & how
Take the tires to the Spring Clean Up Day at the Republic Services transfer station, 829 Burnett Street, which in 2026 ran on Saturday April 18 from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m., with identification for the residency check.
Get it ready
Keep tires out of the rollout container entirely, count them against the eight tire limit, and leave heavy equipment, solid, rubber track and foam filled tires at home because they are not accepted.

The handoff matters

Right item.
Right place.

City containers, early mornings and four feet of clearance

Paducah residential solid waste costs 28.00 a month for one rollout and includes yard waste collection and curbside recycling for households that sign up, with fees on the monthly water bill. Only city-issued containers are serviced, crews run from 4 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on residential and commercial routes, and containers must be out by 4 a.m. on the collection day, so the city recommends setting them out the night before. Collection runs Tuesday through Friday with recycling the same day, and holidays may push a route to Monday. Containers go within two feet of the roadside edge with handles facing away from the street, and the side-arm truck cannot service a container with a stationary object such as a car, mailbox, utility pole, tree, shrub or fence within four feet. Overfilled containers may interrupt service, and contents such as paint, gasoline, solvents, oil, batteries, tires, bricks, blocks and construction material stop the collection altogether.

Taking it somewhere yourself?

Self hauling in Paducah runs through the Compost Facility and the annual Spring Clean Up Day, because the city's own trucks handle the routine work and the pay pile route is a request rather than a drop-off. Residents can take brush, leaves, grass clippings and a stripped Christmas tree to the Compost Facility at 1560 North 8th Street at no charge, checking that facility's page for its hours, while a yard pile larger than a small car or a load of large limbs, stumps and trunks needs a request to Public Works on 270-444-8511 or through the MyPaducah Brush Pickup option and may carry a fee of 150, with some pieces too large for the compost grinder and possibly not collected. Once a year the city and McCracken County hold a free Spring Clean Up Day at the Republic Services transfer station at 829 Burnett Street, which in 2026 ran on Saturday April 18 from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. for residents who bring identification; it accepts household trash, major appliances tagged coolant or Freon free, up to eight tires per resident, household hazardous waste that is labelled and in its original container, ammunition, prescription medications, batteries and e-scrap, while refusing medical waste, commercial waste and radioactive items. Households that cannot use the event can still ask Public Works about a pay pile, which starts at the published minimum fee, is added to the water bill and is collected on Thursdays and Fridays by knuckleboom truck after a supervisor reviews the pile. Before you book

A few things
worth knowing.

Tire disposal, from choosing your item to pickup day in Paducah.

How much does tire disposal cost?

A non-commercial car or pickup-truck tire is $99 first and $20 additional. A commercial automotive tire up to 120 lb is $125 first and $55 additional. Count each tire separately.

How do I book a set of four tires?

Choose the matching tire type and set the quantity to four. The first tire uses the first-item price and the remaining three use the additional-item price. Review your total before payment.

Do you take tires still mounted on rims?

Text our team a photo before booking so we can confirm the scope and price for your setup.

Can my tire shop take the old tires?

Ask the tire retailer or your local waste authority about their collection options and requirements. If the tires are already at home, Dropcurb offers a separately booked outdoor pickup for the listed tire types.

Can I arrange same-day pickup?

Book by 2pm in the pickup address’s local time for same-day pickup. Checkout shows the available dates for your address. Your booking is for a pickup day, rather than an exact arrival window. We send updates and photos after collection.

Where should I put my items?

Use an accessible outdoor spot you are allowed to use, and follow the instructions in your confirmation. Keep sidewalks, entrances and vehicle access clear. You arrange any indoor carrying. For a loading dock or a short building access window, confirm the setup with our team before booking.

Will Paducah take tires at the curb?

No. Tires are on the city's list of unacceptable container contents that interrupt service, so they never go in the rollout. The published route is the free Spring Clean Up Day for Paducah and McCracken County residents, which accepts up to eight tires per resident and refuses heavy equipment, solid, rubber track and foam filled tires. The 2026 event ran on Saturday April 18 from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Republic Services transfer station on Burnett Street.Official guidance
