$15 for the published cost for a bulky item collection, which the resident pays directly to the hauler when scheduling the pickup. Eligible Medford residents who contact Waste Management on 800-972-4545 to schedule and pay for the collection. A bulky item is a household item that cannot be recycled and will not fit in the trash cart, and the pickup happens on the recycling day.

Get it ready
The bulky categories are furniture such as sofas, metal and wooden chairs, desks, tables, bookcases and entertainment centers, bedding such as foot and head boards, dressers and mirrors with the mirrors taped to prevent breakage, and area rugs rolled and tied with twine or duct tape. Wall to wall rugs are not accepted, and nothing goes to the sidewalk before the late afternoon of the day before pickup.
Bulky items and metals are two different hauler routes
A sofa, a desk or an area rug goes through the bulky item collection at the published per item charge, while a white good, appliance, metal item, lawn mower, snow blower or piece of exercise equipment goes through the metals route at its own per item rate, and a television or monitor at a higher rate again. Both are scheduled and paid through the hauler, and the metals and electronics pickups happen only on Tuesdays.

One charge covers one item, wall to wall rugs are refused, and building and demolition items such as toilets and sinks are not part of this route at all.

Will you carry my couch out of my apartment?+
Dropcurb starts outside. Arrange for the sofa to be moved through the apartment and down interior stairs before pickup. We load and haul it away from an accessible outdoor spot. Arrange any dismantling needed to get it outside beforehand.
